Prayers of forgiveness over judgment

• Father, work in me Your gracious kindness so that I no longer ‘point a critical finger’ to separate others to the left or right like a judge that would accuse or excuse them.  Amen!

 

• Father, keep me as far away from the old covenant and its ‘Law of sin and death’ as Your unconditional-loving-favor-of-grace and unconditional-love can take me.  I want nothing to do with its critical, separating judgment, merit-based, conditional-favor that only adds fuel for the flesh and Satan to multiply sin, including judging and not forgiving others.  Amen!

 

• Father, I rely on Your strength to do for others what You have done for me through Christ – to blot out their trespasses of ___, throwing away the record of their sin, no longer holding it against them or even remembering it, and therefore rooting out the sin of judgment and unforgiveness.  Amen!

 

• Father, I rely on You to also no longer want ‘the book thrown at them,’ but instead I ‘cast my cares upon You’ about their sin ___, committing it to Your care and responsibility, rolling this burden off both our backs onto Yours to judge it forever on the cross that finally set us both free.  Amen!

 

• Father, I started out this journey with You, not by filling my brain up with so much gnosis information that I was strong-armed to follow You, but coming to the point where I had to take a ‘leap of trusting-relying-faith’ that You would be there to ‘catch’ me.  So, here I am again to take the ‘step of faith’ of forgiving this person ___ of their sin ___ against me, even if I don’t understand why or even feel like I want to or that I even can.  I will still ‘trust and obey because there is no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.’  I can count on Your blessings. Amen!

 

• Father, I use the delegated authority of Jesus as my interceding Advocate in God’s courtroom over Satan, the deceiver and accuser of the brethren, and his demon-lawyers assigned to both of us.  Jesus has nailed their legal case against me concerning this person’s sins ___ to Christ’s cross, thus cancelling it out and making a public spectacle of these lawyers in God’s courtroom.  The case files of sins against me from this person ___ and my unforgiveness of them are both covered by the atoning blood of Jesus.  I have trusting-relying-faith that all these sins are transferred to Christ and His righteousness unto both of us.  Your mercy triumphs over judgment. Amen!

 

• Father, I roll the sin of ___ I’ve held onto from this person ___ off both our backs onto Christ’s back to carry to the cross for judgment.  I give You the heavy responsibility of judging it ‘fairly and justly,’ and to take away the ‘weight’ that caused the sin in the first place and the ‘weight’ I’ve carried since.  I send that debt away from them and myself, by Jesus’ name of authority. Amen!

 

• Father, I no longer desire the futility of holding onto the status-quo of this ongoing suffering from the judgment and unforgiveness of this person’s sins ___ that is holding me back from Your kingdom’s I don’t want my disobedience regarding this to continue to grieve me and Your Holy Spirit, keeping us ALL in this cycle of pain. Amen!

 

• Father, help me to keep in my mind and heart that Your Son is the only Judge of anybody, that this is at the end of the ages, and to stop working for Satan by being an accuser using the Law’s ‘pointing finger.’ Amen!

 

• Father, remind me that Your understanding of the situation is perfect but mine is flawed, so only You can be fair, just, and impartial. Amen!

 

• Father, since through Christ I am ‘under unconditional-loving-favor-of-grace’ and no longer ‘under the merited-favor of the Law,’ help me to ‘see’ that the ‘fair and just’ thing to do is to treat others the same way You now treat me – with GRACE. Amen!

 

• Father, I no longer measure this person ___ by the demands of fairness and justice that has said ___ but enlarge my ‘measuring stick’ to be unconditional, unearned, and unmerited, because I too desire to be judged instead by this same “measuring stick.”  Amen!

 

• Father, as a follower of Jesus I want to follow His example of reconciling, healing, restoring, and building up others to faithfully be a witness of You to this person ___ instead of judging them.  Lord, help me take their burdens off their back instead of adding my own critical judgments to it.  Help me to bring the kingdom of heaven to earth through Christ’s gospel logos message of merciful-forgiveness triumphing over the Law’s judgment of sin.  Amen!

 

• Father, I confess to You my sin of judgment and unforgiveness of ___ that is actually ‘the log in my own eye,’ and have trusting-relying-faith in Jesus to forgive me and cleanse me from ALL unrighteousness.  I clear my conscience of the ‘convicting’ voice of Satan by Christ’s authoritative name. Amen!

 

• Father, fill me with The Unconditional-Love of the Holy Spirit that can forgive the sins ___ of this person ___, so that I may be able to ‘see’ how to serve You by unconditionally-loving, blessing, and helping them with goodness.  Amen!

 

• Father, I commit this person’s __ evil ___ to You to deal with in Your own way and time. Meanwhile, make me wise and discerning in how I deal with this person ____, correctly scrutinizing or discerning the situation by the means of the Spirit, so that Your kingdom comes and Your will shall be done. Amen!

 

• Father, fill me with Your Spirit of unconditional-love so that I will be supernaturally-enabled to no longer be critical, judgmental, or condemning toward others but instead be forgivingly peaceful, patient, kind, good, loyal, gentle, and self-controlled toward them.  Amen!

 

• Father, I ask You to bless this person ___, filling the voids in their life with Yourself, replacing the emptiness that has caused them to sin, ridding them from their demons that push them around like pawns, and bringing the kingdom of Your Son to them. I ask that You forgive them of their sins ___ against me, for they are just as ignorant of Your glory as I am.  I ask that You supernaturally-enable me to unconditionally-love them as You do.  Amen!

 

• Father, I have no idea what was missing or screwed up inside this person ___ or what evil demon or person was ‘pushing their buttons’ that they could do this sin ___ against me, and I’m sure they didn’t either.  Have mercy on them because they were clueless when they did it, just as often I am.  I know so much of our sinful lives is caused by looking for The Truth and zoe genuine-life everywhere but in You, where it can actually be found.  Amen!

 

• Father, I know that this person ___ has been a victim of forces of evil that have come against them just as they have done this sin ___ that has victimized me.  They are also victims of spiritual darkness moving them like pawns, possibly from family generation to generation, just as with me.  I can’t blame them for also being powerless victims against ancient superhuman powers, so I forgive them of their sins. Amen!

 

• Father, I know I can trust and rely on You to meet my needs ___, but know that my unforgiveness of this person’s sin ___ is blocking me from receiving this, especially of experiencing Your unconditionally-loving acceptance, unmerited-unearned-undeserved favor of grace, and associated blessings of Your kingdom, so I forgive this person of their sins against me so that I will also be forgiven of my sins against others and You. Amen!

 

• Father, I know the kingdom of heaven and its ‘secrets’ are kept hidden from the so-called ‘wise and understanding’ but revealed to ‘little children,’ who also are the ‘least among us’ that You reveal Yourself to.  I want to be like ‘a little child’ in quickly forgetting about my hurts and getting back to the ‘play’ You have for me.  Thank You for helping me to be like them. Amen!

 

• Father, I routinely long for and boldly claim as Your child would, the grace-gift of the Holy Spirit to fill-to-completion me with all Your abundant-fullness so that I am able to experience Your kingdom on earth.  Raptured from my sin, swept off my feet by Your unconditional-love, Your yoke will be easy and burden feather-light.  Your Unconditional-Love nature living in me will cause me to walk in Your ways.  The One Teacher, the Spirit of The Truth, will guide me into all The Truth.  Amen!

 

• Father, teach me to cultivate the habit of often proseuchomai conversationally-praying, praising, thanking, and singing to You, even in tongues by the Spirit, so that my trusting-relying-faith in You will be built up in order to guard myself against the misdeeds of the flesh and schemes of the devil.  Help me to keep myself surrounded by Your unconditional-love and for that unconditional-love to keep me looking forward to Christ’s unconditionally-loving kindness, knowing that zoe genuine-life is only in Him. Amen!

 

• Father, the temptation to judge and be unforgiving is naturally irresistible, so I instead run deep into the safety of You, my towering Fortress ‘wall of Rock,’ to be safe from ‘the persistent, crashing waves of sin,’ and to go where I can hear Your Voice lead me, for your ‘directly-spoken/heard words are Spirit and zoe genuine-life.’  Amen!

What can we do about our judgment and unforgiveness of ourselves and others?

Everything in the Christian life goes back to the ONLY NT entole commandment to the unsaved that saves us – see Logos Word of God – BT15.  But every step of the Christian life goes back to this also!  It always comes back to taking an obedient step of trusting-relying-faith to act on what He tells us to do, even when our minds can’t understand it and our flesh certainly doesn’t feel like doing it.  But He promises that if we do, then we will be blessed!  Paul’s thesis statement from his gospel to the Roman world says it all, taken from the Habakkuk 2:4 prophecy:  “The righteous ones shall zoe genuinely-live by the means of trusting-relying-faith, from trusting-relying-faith to trusting-relying-faith” – a common Greek idiom meaning from “one step to another step, from the beginning to the end of the process” – compare “glory to glory” metamorphic transformation by “gazing-with-wide-open-eyes-as-in-a-mirror the glory of Jesus” rather than “reading Moses with God’s faded glory on his face” in 2 Corinthians 3:18.  It certainly takes STEPS to “unconditionally-love your enemies and/coupled pray for those who persecute you” (a) or “abuse you” (b)!  It takes more STEPS to “bless and/coupled not in possibility curse those who curse you” (c).  It takes even more STEPS to “do good to those who hate you” (d), even “feeding your hungry enemy or giving him something to drink if thirsty” (e), showing “kindness to the ungrateful and the evil in order to be mature-sons of the Most High who does this Himself” (f).  If we take these STEPS of trusting-relying-faith, then we are “overcoming evil with good instead of being overcome by evil” (g).  But how are these STEPS even possible for such flawed flesh beings as ourselves? <Notes> a) Matthew 5:44, b) Luke 6:28, c) Romans 12:14, d) Luke 6:27, 35, e) Romans 2:20, f) Luke 6:35, g) Romans 12:21.

 

Everything always comes back to our total surrender of control, that is to metanoia “repent or change our mind for the kingdom of heaven” (a) or strepho “turn/convert by changing the direction/course of our mind to become like little children to enter or dechomai warmly-welcome the kingdom of God” (b), surrendering control to our heavenly Father!  I’ve worked with a lot of little children and not only are they relentless at getting their parent’s attention, they don’t “keep a record of wrongs” and “forgive and forget” very soon after being hurt by somebody.  <Notes> a) Matthew 3:2, 4:17; Mark 1:15, b) Matthew 18:3, 19:14; Mark 10:15; Luke 18:17; 1 Peter 2:2.

 

The natural action or “work of faith” (a) that demonstrates repentance is homologeo confession by “speaking the same thing as God” of our sin that starts the soteria saving process of “healing-restoring of wholeness and health.”  This is where Jesus begins His work IN us by the means of the Holy Spirit.  Therefore it’s vital for every STEP of the Christian life!  1 John 1:5-10 spells it out: “This is the announcement (b) we have heard from Him and proclaim to you, that God is presently/ongoing-defined-as/exists-as Light and IN Him is absolutely in fact no darkness at all.  If we say we have koinonia intimate fellowship with Him while we presently-ongoingly walk-live in darkness, we lie and do not practice The Truth.  However, if we presently-ongoingly walk-live in The Light as He is in The Light, then we actually have koinonia intimate fellowship with one another, and/coupled the blood of Jesus His Son actually, presently-ongoingly cleanses (c) us from ALL sin.  If we say we presently-ongoingly have no sin, we deceive (lie to) ourselves and The Truth is absolutely in fact not in us.  If we presently-ongoingly confess our sins, then He is actually, presently-ongoingly trustworthy-faithful and/coupled righteously-just in order to definitively-wholly forgive us our sins and/coupled definitively-wholly cleanse (c) us from ALL (d) unrighteous-injustice (e).  If we say we have already, with lasting results, absolutely in fact not sinned, we make Him a liar and His logos gospel message is absolutely in fact not in us.”  See Surrender-Control – BT10 for a detailed discussion of this.

 

<Notes> a) 1 Thessalonians 1:3; 2 Thessalonians 1:11, b) logos gospel message of The Truth, c) katharizo: purify us from all admixture, filth, c) d) this is one of the fewer times pas like means “the whole of” instead of “every of a kind/class of” as in 2 Timothy 3:15-16, “pas scripture [the kind that is] God-breathed is profitable for instruction” in the context of v. 15 is referring to Messianic prophetic “oracles of God” [as in Hebrews 5:12 and 1 Peter 4:11] that were able to make Timothy and others “wise unto salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.”  In no way would Paul permit the reading of the 5 books of Moses per 2 Corinthians 13:4-18, e) violation of God’s justice that brings divine disapproval.

 

So much of Christianity has been complicated by adults, mostly religious and legalistic people, but a consistent emphasis of the NT and the Lord’s personal communication to me is K. I. S. = Keep It Simple and “become like little children” – that’s why I have a whole page The Least Among You on this!  Little children are not asked by parents to sunesis rationally ‘connect the dots’ to understand/know or have great sophia wisdom on how to apply this knowledge, but to simply have trusting-relying-faith in what they say and obey them!  I love that song called Trust and Obey that says “Trust and obey, for there’s no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.”  The entire Christian life is really that simple!

 

However we can’t do anything, including unconditional-love and forgiveness, unless we meno remain-connected-to/cohabitate-with/abide-in Jesus, the Vine (a).  Only His unconditional-loving-favor-of-grace gives us the dunamis dynamite-like, supernatural enabling-power of the Holy Spirit to “walk in Him” (b), “walk in The Light as He is in the light” (c), so “whoever says he meno remains-connected-to/cohabitates-with/abides-in Him is opheilo are-indebted to wholly/definitively peripateo ‘walk-all-around or live’ in the same WAY in which He ongoingly peripateo ‘walked-all-around or live’” (d), and in the context this in unconditional-love. I can’t forget the dream the Lord gave of me of The Massive Fortress Rock of Christ. I was standing on a shoreline, one wave of “the world, the flesh, and the devil” after another crashing up against me, wearing me down, and knocking me over.  Pushing forward or standing my ground was futile because the waves matched my height to increase the energy by an exponent of two!  Two times higher meant 4 times the energy!  He said, “Run back to Me, to a Cave Door in a great Fortress-Rock wall at the shoreline.  Only until I entered and continued far past its entranceway was I safe from the crashing waves.  He became my light, air, food, and finally secure place of rest when I was in the middle of Him.  That’s what “meno abiding/remaining-connect-to/cohabitating-in the Vine to produce much fruit” actually meant!  That’s why 1 John 2:27:  “The anointing that you already received from Him (a) ongoingly meno abides/remains-connect-to/cohabitates IN you, and/thus you have absolutely in fact NO need that anyone should teach you.  But just as His anointing actually, ongoingly teaches you about ALL things, and is ongoingly true/trustworthy and/thus ongoingly is absolutely in fact no lie – just as it has already taught you, actually, ongoingly meno abide/remain-connect-to/cohabit-in Him,” the Vine of Christ “to produce much fruit” (b).  This is always our solution to the dangers of this world and sin!  <Notes> a) compare v. 20: “you presently/ongoing have-to-hold [singular] anointing away-from the Holy One and/thus you-all already-with-ongoing-effects eido mentally ‘see’ to perceive/know ALL [things] – pas often mean ‘every of a kind of,” b) John 15:5.

 

Little children are certainly relentless in ‘pulling on the shirt tail’ of their parent to let them know what they desperately need.  The Lord gave me a vision of this and told me to be that way – see Least Among You – BT12!  For us this means “to be routinely pleroo filled-to-completion WITH all the pleroma abundant-fullness of the Father by the means of the Holy Spirit” (a). THIS is what we are to routinely aiteo ‘subordinately, but confidently and boldly as a child, ask, crave, call or cry out for, require, and even demand’ from our heavenly Father as Jesus taught us to pray (b).  Why did Jesus leave us with this final thought on prayer as our “action item?”  Jesus left the best and most important ‘to-do’ for us, just as every great speaker or writer does by repeating or rephrasing His thesis statement.  But why?  Exactly because “it really is impossible para with/beside/near man but para with/beside/near God all things are possible” (c) and because “the flesh profits absolutely in fact nothing; [however] the prophetic rhema words that I speak to you are-defined-as/exist-as Spirit and/coupled they are-defined-as/exist-as zoe genuine-life” (d).  That’s why I have so many pages on the Spirit and a whole page on Prophetic Rhema-Words!  It’s really the nature of the completely-different-in-kind, superior New Covenant and where zoe genuine-life can be found – not bible study! <Notes> a) Ephesians 3:19, 5:18 – see Spirit-Baptism, b) Luke 11:13; Matthew 7:11, c) Matthew 19:26; Mark 10:27, d) John 6:63.

 

You see, no matter how many “might or power” external resources or internal abilities we put behind our efforts to unconditionally-love and forgive, we will certainly fail, just as Zechariah 14:6 prophesies about the ending of the old covenant and the beginning of the completely-different-in-kind, superior New Covenant!  Only our vertical-love relation with God, who is Unconditional-Love, can supernaturally empower or enable us by the means of the Spirit of Holiness to walk/live “in the same WAY as Jesus did” with unconditional horizontal-love and forgiveness toward others – see Unconditional-Love – BT9.  The Lord once showed me that His Unconditional-Love raptures us or “lifts us up and away,” sweeping us off our feet in ecstatic love, joy, and peace away from not only the sin of judgment and unforgiveness, but all our sins!

 

That’s the exact meaning of John 15:1-2 “Every branch IN Me that does not bear fruit, My Father, the Vinedresser, airo ‘lifts up, raises upward, elevates, draws upward; take upon oneself and carry what has been raised up, thus bear; to bear/carry away what has been raised’”  He lifts the vine up away from the ground where animals can nibble on it and out of the shadows into The Light so that it can grow and produce energy for fruit.  Fruit in shadows gets moldy, too!  I’m a gardener and was a wine-taster so I know these things well!  Like little children, we are totally dependent by trusting-rely-faith on our heavenly Father’s Unconditional-Love for His “One Teacher” Holy Spirit teaching and dunamis dynamite-like enabling-power – see Spirit-Power.  All other secular and religious attempts at unconditional-love and forgiveness are vain and futile!

 

We also know from many verses that “through-the-realizing-channel-of ALL ‘portions-of’ (a) proseuche conversational-prayer kai and/coupled deesis supplication (b), routinely, proseuchomai conversationally-praying (c) in ALL ‘portions of’ (a) season/time by the means of the Spirit” (d).  We know from Paul’s other writings this is likely “the unintelligible, mind-unfruitful/unproductive, mysteries [to us] grace-gift of tongues unto God” (e), which is “proseuchomai conversationally-praying secrets/mysteries, revelations, and thanksgiving unto God” (f) that is the way we “build ourselves up (g) in our most Holy Faith” in order to “tereo ‘carefully watch/observe to safely-guard, care-for/attend-to, firmly-hold/stand-in/maintain-a-present-state’ IN The Unconditional-Love of/belonging-to God, [and this keeps us] looking forward to the unconditionally-loving-kindness of Christ that gives us zoe genuine-life forever” (h).  Thus proseuchomai conversationally-praying in tongues may indeed be what Paul had in mind when he said: “put to death the misdeeds of the body by the means of the Spirit in order to zoe genuinely-live” (i).  Kenneth Hagin said: “I have found in my own life over a period of more than 60 years that the more I speak in tongues—the more I pray and worship God in tongues—the more manifestation of the other grace-gifts of the Spirit I have in my life too. And the less I speak in tongues, the less manifestation of the supernatural grace-gifts of the Holy Spirit I have operating in my life.”

 

<Notes> a) pas usually doesn’t mean “the whole or entirety of” but like here, “every of a portion, class, category, or kind of”, b) the monologue of deesis supplication is unique from the dialogue of proseuche conversational-prayer.  Here Paul wants you to do both but because of kai, in a linked, integrated way, c) by adding the present participle proseuchomai, Paul is clearly pointing out the emphasis of prayer:  not the monologue of deesis supplication in our own native language but the dialogue of proseuche conversational-prayer in tongues, where the Holy Spirit gets to speak in intercession as our Paraklesos Advocate and with praise/thanksgiving to the Father, d) Ephesians 6:18, e) 1 Corinthians 14:2, 4, 9, 14-15 – see Grace-Gifts, f) 1 Corinthians 14:6, 17, g) 1 Corinthians 14:4, h) Jude 1:20, i) Romans 8:13.

 

Reflection:

 

 

As Christian musicians, it has to be simple enough to walk/live as Jesus did with unconditional-love and forgiveness for little children and “the least among us” to be able to do it!  It has to be this way for God to be impartial and not show favoritism to the so-called “wise and understanding ones.”  The only entole officially-decreed, universally-binding commandment given to Christians to “ongoing unconditionally-love one another just as I have already unconditionally-loved you” that thus demands stopping the sin of critical judgment and condemnation of others who have sinned against us and instead forgive them, is simply NOT possible in our human flesh unless we take these obedient steps of trusting-relying-faith:

 

1) Totally surrender-control by repenting or turning your mind away from your sin and towards the Lord through:

 

2) Confessing or agreeing with Him that you are sinning and don’t want anything to do with your flesh’s desires and/or influence of demons, even ‘binding’ and ‘casting’ them out by His name/authority.  Admitting your “unfaithfulness” to “The Faithful One” and admitting your “unrighteousness” to “The Righteous One” allows Jesus to forgive your sins and cleanse you from ALL unrighteousness.  You have to “loose/untie” and “commit or roll off your back the burden of sin” onto Christ for Him to utterly destroy it on the cross by His blood.  Now that you have acted on your trusting-relying-faith and meno connected-to Vine of Christ to produce fruit that glorifies the Father, you still need to take step:

 

3) To “loose/untie” and forgive “lift-up and throw-away” the burden of sin of the other person as well, by also taking it to the cross of Christ for His blood to destroy it, even exercising your delegated authority to ‘bind and cast out’ their demons.  Now that you have “thrown out the books of the Law” for yourself and them, its judgment ‘dominion-hold’ over the both of you that bound/tied both of you together with the Law, has been broken!  Praise the Lord!  Now the “log in your own eye blinding you” has been removed!  Now you are ready for this step:

 

4) ‘Loose/untie’ the Holy Spirit to take the place of both of your demons and “sinful passions aroused by the Law.”  As a child of God, knowing absolutely that this is the will of God, you can boldly and confidently come before the Father and relentlessly ‘pull on his shirt tail’ for the both of you to “be routinely filled-to-completion with all the abundant-fullness of God by the means of the Holy Spirit.”  You have “thrown out the Law” and are asking for the unconditionally-loving-favor-of-grace to completely replace it.  The Spirit is the enabling-power of God for righteousness and zoe genuine-life.  Religion’s “might and power” just won’t cut it!  This is how we meno remain-connect-to/cohabitate/walk/live in the Vine of Christ to continually “produce much fruit to the glory of the Father!”  Now it’s possible for God’s “kingdom to come and His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven!”  Now you are finally powerfully-enabled for the step:

 

5) Instead of returning hatred for hatred as the ‘just, fair, equitable’ Law dictates “eye for an eye, etc.” reciprocity, you are able to return unconditional-love.  Instead of returning curses, return blessing.  Instead of returning evil for evil, return good.  Instead of returning persecution, you can give food and water to your enemies.  Instead of being ungrateful you can show kindness.  And the list goes on!  Finally for the last step:

 

6) Stay meno connected-to/cohabitating-in/living-walking IN Christ through proseuche conversational-prayer.  This will keep you walking in the Spirit, in the Light, and thus in the unconditional-love of Christ to combat any more proving-trials from the demons, your flesh, or from that person still being pestered by their own demons and flesh!  Routinely pray “Thy kingdom come . . . forgive us . . . as we forgive . . . deliver us away-from the evil one!”  Routinely pray for more of the Holy Spirit’s filling & power.  And as Paul and Jude urge:  “pray in tongues to build yourself up in the most Holy Faith.”  Use the sword of the Spirit that is prophetic rhema words of God to fight back – declare and decree the promises of God that He has spoken to you.  “Submit to God; resist the devil and/then he will flee from you.”  They go together!

Thank You Father for keeping it simple for us little children and the other “least among us” who learn directly from You instead of just writings about You like religious people depend on.  Instead we put our trusting-relying-faith solely in YOU to be our “One Father, One Leader-Master, and One Teacher” as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit!  We surrender-control to you through repentant-turning-away from the sin of judgment and unforgiveness, by confessing-agreeing with your assessment of it, binding/tying up the demons and the Law they use to arouse our flesh’s passions and nailing their accusations to the cross, loosing/untying ALL our sins and throwing it ALL away to the cross of Christ for You to utterly destroy it and heal us both, and loosing/untying the Holy Spirit by routinely, confidently, boldly asking for us both to be filled-to-completion with You by the means of the Spirit.  Now empower us to witness Your unconditional-love to them through returning “joy, peace, enduring-patience, kindness, goodness, faith/faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control/mastery.” I know that if I meno stay connected-to/cohabitating-in/presently-with/living-by YOU, there is absolutely nothing impossible!

Our knee-jerk judgment and unforgiveness is the “log in our eye” making us ineffective

Our judgment and unforgiveness is actually the “dokos log/beam in our own eyes that has to be removed” before we can ‘see’ accurately to be able to give help to others with their “karphos splinter, dry stalk, or chip from a log/beam” issues (a).  We can’t give what we haven’t received from God (b) or others.  You can’t really counsel others effectively with “wisdom and understanding” unless you first get this from God (c).  How can you ‘minister’ to others unless you have been ministered to by God?  You really can’t ‘fake it until you make it.’  <Notes> a) Matthew 7:1-5; Luke 6:37-42, b) Matthew 10:8; John 3:27; 1 Corinthians 4:7, c) 1 Kings 4:29; Job 12:13-28, 38:36; Psalms 111:10; Proverbs 2:6, 3:13, 19; Isaiah 11:2; Jeremiah 10:12, 51:15; Daniel 5:11, 14; Colossians 1:9.

 

Judgment and unforgiveness is simply a knee-jerk reaction of our fallen, corrupted flesh.  Christians are called to “rise above” our auto-pilot reactions by the means of Christ’s “[singular] fruit of the indwelling Spirit that is unconditional-love,” further described with an unpunctuated list of adjective-nouns such as “joy, peace, patience, kindness, Godlike-goodness, faith/faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control/mastery.”  Instead of reacting negatively, Jesus calls His disciples to “pray/intercede for those who abuse us, unconditionally-love our enemies, free them from our judgments and the condemning-judgments of the Law, and hope God’s best for them by blessing those who curse us.”  Paul declares that “the only thing that counts is trusting-relying-faith working through unconditional-love.”

 

We should realize that we are just as ignorant as those we accuse are.  We may never know whether those who have wronged us really understood what they were doing, were on auto-pilot from their flesh, or demons inflaming it through the Law, or were just trying to fill some void inside.  Jesus was able to forgive evil people because He knew that they simply “didn’t understand what they were doing” (a), were common to man (b), were deceived by the world’s great deceiver and father of lies, and were looking for zoe genuine-life in all the wrong places.  <Notes> a) Luke 23:34, b) Matthew 20:22, 21:27; Mark 11:33; John 16:18.

 

We should also realize that those who sin against us are just as much a victim as we are, pawns or puppets in a “spiritual battle not of flesh and blood, but between 4 hierarchal layers of spiritual forces of darkness, rulers, principalities, and authorities” (a).  We are blaming victims for being victims of Satan and his angelic and demonic forces.  Shouldn’t we be interceding for them?  Shouldn’t we be taking authority in the name/authority of Jesus against the actual forces of evil instead of taking our fight to mere humans? <Notes> a) Ephesians 6:12.

 

Our merit-based, conditional favor shown to others through our judgment and unforgiveness blinds and blocks us from so much – from experiencing God’s unconditional-loving-favor-of-grace, His forgiveness, and His unconditional-love, but it also blocks all of this from coming to us – boomerang!   We get back what we send out, one way or another!  It keeps our aiteo asking-prayer from being answered because it distances us from God, grieves His Spirit, and is contrary to His nature, His kingdom, and His will.

As Christian musicians, so many problems with wrong doctrine can be solved by just reading verses in context and comparing with other “like-things” from that author.  But even more can be solved by actually hearing from the Holy Spirit, our “One Teacher.”  So it is with the “log and splinter in the eyes.”  Judgment of others is a serious sin, a huge log that will blind you from helping others, so big that embracing the Law will keep you from the Grace that can save you!  The person “wronging us” was “in the flesh” and our knee-jerk reaction to be resentful is just as much “in the flesh.”  There may be a 100 reasons you will never know for why they sinned, but we don’t need to know this to be obedient to “the Law of Christ to bear one another’s burdens” or to the “New Commandment” to the saved Christians:  “to unconditionally-love one another just as I have unconditionally-loved you.”

 

If we want the unconditionally-loving-favor-of-grace, we have to “throw out the Law” and give them grace instead!  If we don’t, the Law we are appealing to in order to hold them accountable for their sin, points 3-4 fingers back at us and condemns us.  This is so serious that it blocks our prayers!  The only way out of us both being condemned by the Law is to take it ALL to the cross for Christ to forgive and cleanse us both from ALL unrighteousness.  This total-surrender to the Holy Spirit to “let go and let God” is the only way out from the power of the sin of judgment and unforgiveness, the only way to be delivered from the evil one, and for God’s kingdom to move forward!

 

Prayer:

   

 

Lord, open our hearts to feel Your unconditional-love towards others so we can also reject the judgment of the Law and show grace and forgiveness instead.  Holy Spirit, help us to see others the way You see them!  Be our “One Teacher.”  We surrender totally to You!

Forgiveness isn’t denying the evil of sin but taking it to the cross to destroy it and free us all

Forgiveness isn’t taking a blind eye to sin, abuse, or persecution from others.  It doesn’t “call evil good and good evil” (a).  It doesn’t permit injustice and victimization by sweeping it under the rug.  Nor does it try to ‘change the subject’ or deflect from the issue as we see so many politicians doing nowadays.  Instead it “commits or rolls off your back” the “judgment of the evil” onto God’s back, instead of caring this heavy responsibility or burden of “just, fair, equitable judgment” (b).  This is certainly part of “casting ALL your cares/anxieties on Him because He cares for you” (c).  Forgiveness is total surrender of control by “letting go and letting God” do ALL the judgment on the Final Day.   <Notes> a) Isaiah 5:20, b) Psalms 37:1, 3, 5, b) 1 Peter 5:7.

 

Jesus said to His disciples that He was sending them out into a cruel world:  “Be akeraios unmixed-pure-from-ambition/guile as doves but as phronimos shrewd as snakes/serpents” (a).  This phronimos shrewdness is “how we size things up, an outward-behavior reflecting our personal-inward opinions/outlook/insight/mind-set, thus being savvy, shrewd, intelligent, prudent or mindful of one’s interests.”  How do you apply this in ministry?  “Don’t cast your pearls [of kingdom holy ‘wisdom and understanding’ of the Spirit] before pigs to be trampled by them and [they] turn to attack you” (b).  Christians shouldn’t be guilty of sin they could legitimately be judged for by others for, but they should be intelligently aware Satan will use people and situations to set you up!  <Notes> a) Matthew 10:16, b) Matthew 7:6.

 

Even “Spirit-kind-of people” need to be alert and prudent in their dealings with brethren “caught in any transgression” as they attempt to “restore him in/by/with a [singular] Spirit of/belonging-to gentleness – keep watch on yourself, lest you too might be definitively/wholly peirazo tested/tried-to-prove-the-quality-of” (a).  The prudent judgment we need is “Spirit-kind-of discernment” (b) to “discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart” (c) that is having “the enabling-powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil” (d), not just for ourselves, but situations we are stepping into in order to minister – see New Covenant Ways – BT16 and Least Among You – BT8. <Notes> a) Galatians 6:1, b) 1 Corinthians 2:14, c) Hebrews 4:12, d) Hebrews 5:14.

 

Reflection:

 

 

As Christian musicians, forgiveness isn’t denying or trying to escape the wrong done to you, but taking the evil (not the person) to the cross of Christ for his blood to destroy its burden and hold on you and the person that has committed it.  It isn’t dismissing evil or treating symptoms but destroying the source of the problem – the Law and the demon-lawyers that use it.  Jesus wants you to “nail the handwriting against you and them” to the cross.  He died for this per Colossians 2:14, but we have to lambano “grab this for ourselves” by trusting-relying-faith for it to become effective in our lives!  The Lord doesn’t ask us to throw our brains into the waste basket, but actually to be as “shrewd as a snake” and use discernment of the Holy Spirit to recognize good and evil while we are innocently unconditionally-loving as a dove.

 

Thus this ‘unconditional-love in action’ is key to the kingdom of God coming and God’s will being done on earth as it is in heaven – it is central to ‘the binding and loosing’ we often hear about in the NT.  It is the only NT entole commandment given to SAVED people!  The process of “restoration to wholeness and health” that is integral to salvation involves our “reconciliation with God and people.”  We cannot separate any of this!  Sin, shame, and guilt aren’t “denied, suppressed, sublimated, or deflected” as the world tries to do.  Christians aren’t to treat symptoms!  No, we forgive or “throw away the Law of fairness & justice” against ourselves and others at the cross and nail it to the cross through total surrender by repentance, confession, and water-baptism for Christ’s blood-redeeming justice to cleanse US from ALL unrighteousness so He can be faithful to keep His promise to forgive US.  Yes, we can “loose” this forgiveness on ourselves and even on those who sin against us!

 

Prayer:

   

 

Lord, thank You for giving us more discernment as we come closer to Your Spirit.  It keeps us from the schemes of evil people and Your unconditionally-loving-favor-of-grace is teaching us to “let go and let God” by taking their evil to the cross to break the power of the Law to create sin and judgment of the Law to condemn everybody involved.  By committing or rolling this off our backs to Yours we become free from the Law and its judgment.  Praise Your Name!

Forgiveness is our witness and the essence of the gospel logos message of The Truth

Our only real evangelistic witness is unconditional-love, which is the “much fruit that glorifies My Father to wholly/definitively/already be His disciples” (a) that indeed shows, demonstrates, or proves that we actually are meno abiding/connected-to/cohabitating/remaining IN the Vine of Jesus (b).  This unconditional-love is directly related to the behaviors of the “New Man that you have already put on [like fresh, never-before-used, clean clothes]” (c), which is “NOW beyond ALL these [previous things to wholly/definitively put on, like brand-new clothes], that is, unconditional-love, which IS the bond of perfect unity” (d).  Certainly our “much fruit” is related to the “[singular] fruit of the Spirit IS-presently/ongoingly-defined-as/exists-as unconditional-love” (e).  Certainly this is our “labor of unconditional-love” (f).  Certainly it is “your unconditional-love toward all the saints” that Paul even “heard of” in his travels (g).  The Lord “eido mentally ‘sees’ to perceive/know your works:  your service [of] unconditional-love and/coupled patient-endurance [of] trusting-relying-faith” (h).  <Notes> a) John 15:8, b) John 15:5, c) Colossians 3:10, d) Colossians 3:14, e) Galatians 5:22, f) 1 Thessalonians 1:3, g) Ephesians 1:15; Colossians 1:4; Philemon 5, h) Revelation 2:19 – this is the way the Greek phrasing combines.

 

After all, it is Christ’s “completely-different-in-kind, superior New Commandment” (a) as we discussed in the last BLOG, the “Law of Christ to bear one another’s burdens” (b) – the only NT entole commandment given to saved people per Logos Word of God – BT16.  Jesus came to “save the world, absolutely in fact not to judge or even condemn the it” (c) thus “giving us the example” (d) “to learn from by His yoke [of discipleship connection]” (e) “to walk in the same ways in which He walked” (f), and in context (g) of “routinely unconditionally-loving one’s brethren [to be the ones] ongoingly meno abiding/connected-to/cohabitating/remaining IN the Light (g)” who is Christ (h).  See A 11-21-2021 Vision about Meno abiding. This is part of the “loosing/untying” (i) we saw about forgiveness in the previous BLOGs, whereas the Pharisees and scribes of the Law (ultimate legalists) were only good at “binding/tying up heavy burdens, hard to bear, and laying them on people’s shoulders, but they themselves were not willing to move them (untie/loose) them with their finger” (j). <Notes> a) John 13:34, 15:12; 1 John 3:23, b) 1 Corinthians 9:21; Galatians 6:2, c) John 3:17, 12:47, d) John 13:15; 1 Peter 2:21, e) Matthew 11:29, f) 1 John 2:6, g) another common term for Jesus: John 8:12, 9:5, 12:35, h) 1 John 2:10, i) Matthew 16:19, 18:18, j) Matthew 23:4; Luke 11:46.

 

The “forgiveness of sins” is actually the essence of the preached gospel logos message of Christ and His disciples as “witnesses of these things” through ‘the great commission’ they faithfully preached (a) under a completely-different-in-kind, superior New Covenant based on the blood of Jesus (b), just as John the Baptist prepared the Way for this by his preaching of salvation (c).  Only this leads to “deliverance from captivity, reconciliation between people, restoration to wholeness of health,” which is the definition of soteria salvation, which only comes from Christ.  It was one of the “keys to the kingdom of heaven” given to His disciples to “build My church on this [massive, foundational] Petra Rock” of Christ, not the “little, chipped-off stone” of Petros Peter, that “whatever you bind/tie on earth shall be bound/tied in heaven and/coupled whatever you loose/untie on earth shall be loosed/untied in heaven,” because in context this is clearly speaking of forgiving “your brethren that sins against you” (d).  Is this the gospel logos message that we represent by our lives as “witnesses of these things?”  Are we using this “key to the kingdom of heaven” appropriately?  <Notes> a) Luke 24:47-48; Acts 2:38, 5:31, 10:43, 13:38, 26:18; Colossians 1:14, b) Matthew 26:28; Hebrews 9:11-28, 10:1-18, c) Mark 1:4; Luke 1:76-77, 3:3, d) Matthew 16:18-19; 18:15-20; John 20:21-23.

 

Our forgiveness of others can actually lead them closer to Christ to ultimately receive their complete forgiveness.  How?  We are praying for grace instead of wanting the justice of Law, returning kindness and goodness for persecution, and returning blessing for cursing.  This will “heap burning coals on their heads” (a). Too many Christians think this means making them feel ‘flushed’ with shame for treating us so badly, but this guilt is exactly the ‘pointing finger’ of the Law and Satan.  Jesus would never view this as being kind!  This is a lack of cultural understanding!  Actually, in their culture ‘hot coals’ would be needed for cooking and as a source of light at night and heat on cold nights, even to keep them alive.  If you had to carry ‘hot coals’ you would not carry them by hand as the heat would rush onto the hand and arm. For this reason, people carried them safely on their heads in a pottery urn. Thus, a ‘kind or good person’ would give coals to the neighbor who is lacking.  This is truly is a witness of unconditional-love! <Notes> a) Romans 12:20 citing Proverbs 25:21-22.

 

“Forgiveness of sins” is actually the essence of Christ’s model for prayer in bringing God’s kingdom and will “on earth as it is in heaven.” It is 23% of the Matthew 6:9-14 and 38% of Luke 11:2-4 prayer models and in Matthew’s account Jesus immediately adds verses 15-16 to teach more about it!  Mark 11:24-25 links forgiveness to answered prayer.  This is NOT a side issue but at the CORE of how God’s “kingdom comes and His will is done on earth as it is in heaven” AND directly coupled by the use of kai to “in possibility not being eisphero lead-brought-unto-the-result-of peirasmos [singular] testing/trying-to-prove-our-genuineness” and in Matthew’s account “but deliver-save us away-from [singular] evil [one].”  Satan is the “accuser of the brethren” in Revelation 12:10 who uses the “pointing finger” of the Law to do it!

 

A ‘key heavenly’ part of our salvation from the definition above is “to be delivered from the captivity or slavery” of the Law (a) that Satan uses to accuse us, and so 97.4% of the OT would never be preached or taught in the NT church – see Logos Word of God – BT5a and Logos Word of God – BT8.  That is because the Law empowers sin (b) since it arouses sin (c) and multiplies it (d), for “where there is no Law there is no transgression” (e) for “sin is NOT counted where there is no Law” (f).  All rules-based religions of the world, like the OT Law, are based on these “weak and worthless stoicheion elementary-rudimentary ‘abc’ fundamental principles” that through Christ we were supposed “to have died to” (g).  Even if the rest of the OT (2.6%) consists of prophetic “stoicheion doctrines of Christ” to help convert Jews to Christ (h), it is still “milk” for babies compared to the “solid food of discernment of the Holy Spirit” (i) – see New Covenant Ways – BT16, Least Among You – BT8. <Notes> a) Galatians 2:4, 4:3, 24, 5:1; Romans 8:15, b) 1 Corinthians 15:56, c) Romans 7:5, d) Romans 7:8, 13, e) Romans 4:15, f) Romans 5:13, g) Galatians 4:3, 9; Colossians 2:8, 20, h) Hebrews 6:1 – see Logos Word of God – BT6, i) Hebrew 5:12-14.

 

Forgiveness doesn’t “deny, suppress, sublimate, or deflect the evil of others’ as the world deals with it,” just as we shouldn’t with our own sin if we want to “walk in the light of Christ.”  No!  It brings it into “The Light” of Jesus for examination to reveal “The Truth” of it.  It totally-surrenders to the Lord by confessing that sin to Jesus, by agreeing with God’s assessment of our sin and its due penalty.  We were not faithful, but Jesus is “faithful to forgive us our sins!”  How?  Because He is “also just to cleanse us from all our unrighteousness/unjustness!”  How?  That is the gospel logos message of The Truth, Christ:  “By One man’s obedience the many will be made righteous” per Romans 5:19.  But how?

 

“We are justified/made-declared-righteous by God’s unconditional-loving-favor-of-grace as a grace-gift through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation through-the-realizing-channel-of trusting-relying-faith in/by/with His blood towards-reaching demonstrable-proof of His righteousness through-the-realizing-channel-of the forgiveness of sins that were [with ongoing effects] previously-transpired” (a).  Jesus is “a merciful and/coupled faithful High Priest in the service of God to make propitiation for the sins of the people” (b).  But how?  “He IS-defined-as/exists-as the propitiation for our sins, and/but not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world” (c).  <Notes> a) Romans 3:23-25, b) Hebrews 2:17, c) 1 John 2:2.

 

This is the gospel logos message of God’s Unconditional-Love:  “This IS presently/ongoingly-defined-as Unconditional-Love:  absolutely in fact NOT that we have unconditionally-loved [with ongoing effects] God (that what the OT Law commands) but that He already unconditionally-loved us and/specifically-by already having-sent His Son, a propitiation for our sins.  Beloved, if God SO already unconditionally-loved us (a), and/also we opheilo are-indebted (b) to ongoingly unconditionally-love one another” (c).  Notes> a) cf. John 3:16, b) opheilo: owe, are indebted or obliged to rectify/pay-off a legitimate debt, even of moral responsibility.  The NT use of this word it not a “work to remove debt” because that’s what the “propitiation of Christ” did.  It is a 1 Thessalonians 1:3 “labor of unconditional-love” act of gratitude or thanksgiving. There are 2 Greek NT nouns hilasterion or hilasmos and 1 verb hilaskomai that speak of a divine “propitiation” or “atonement” that is an exchange of our unrighteousness for Christ’s righteousness by the death and resurrection of Jesus (a) that brings us the indwelling enabling-power of the Holy Spirit that makes us “belong to Him” (b) as “completely-different-in-kind New Creations” (c) during our saving water-baptism (d).  Repentance by confession is our “obedience of faith” – see Surrender Control – BT3. <Notes> a) see Surrender Control – BT2, b) Romans 8:9, c) 2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 6:15, d) Romans 1:4, 6:3-6; 1 Peter 3:21; Ephesians 1:19-20; Philippians 3:10; cf. Revelation 20:6 – see Water-Baptism and Spirit-Power.

 

By this propitiation “forgiveness of sin” we are not condemned with the rest of the world (a).  Likewise, by “throwing-away” the “books of the Law” through forgiveness, which this Law teaches “eye-for-an-eye judgement of sin” (b) and the keeping of “records of kakos inward-foul-rotten-malicious-evil” against others and ourselves (c).  Then we not only become “free from the yoke of slavery to the Law” but we will have enabling-power to rebuke the accusations of Satan and his demon-lawyers “in the name/authority of Jesus” (d), which is part of the “greater works that the ones routinely having trusting-relying-faith in Me shall he actually poieo make-to-do” (e).  <Notes> a) John 3:16-18, b) Matthew 5:38 citing Exodus 21:24-25; Deuteronomy 19:21, c) 1 Corinthians 13:5, d) Zechariah 3:2; Matthew 8:26, 17:18; Mark 1:25, 4:39, 8:33, 9:25, 16:17; Luke 4:35, 39, 41, 8:24, 9:42; Jude 1:9, e) John 14:12.

 

This is how to deal with Satan’s accusations and the guilt we and others feel from sin.  And when Satan brings it back up, we again take it back to Christ’s cross for cleansing to “rebuke those demons,” just as Jesus did, for repeated freedom and healing – salvation as “restoration to wholeness” is not an event but a process!  This is what it means to “submit ourselves to God” or surrender-control and then relatedly “resist/stand-against the devil so he will flee from us” per James 4:7.  This is our Matthew 6:13 Lord’ Prayer for God’s kingdom enabling-power and glory:  “in possibility not being eisphero lead-brought-unto-the-result-of peirasmos [singular] testing/trying-to-prove-our-genuineness but instead wholly/definitively rhuomai ‘snatched or drawn up/out from, rescued, delivered’ from the evil [one].”  We pray to have nothing to do with Satan or his ways of accusation, so we pray to be protected from him and testing trials.

As Christian musicians, do we want to represent the OT Law of just, equitable, fair judgment – an eye for an eye or the NT unconditional-loving-favor-of-grace through trusting-relying-faith in Christ to satisfy the Law’s just judgment against us?  We can’t mix Law and Grace!  We will have one or the other for us.  If we want the Law for others to punish them for their “record of wrongs” that we have kept against them, then we get the Law applied to us as well.  It’s ALL or nothing as the NT says over and over.  But if we want Grace, then we are rightfully “indebted” to give Grace to others.  Unconditional-love is what really distinguishes us as a disciple of Christ for forgiveness is central to the New Covenant, ‘Great News’ gospel logos Message of God, the Great Commission, the Lord’s prayer, and the ‘much fruit’ of actual disciples that glorifies the Father.  It is the singular fruit/essence/nature of Christ living in us as the Holy Spirit overflowing from us to others – it is our only true evangelistic witness!  It’s a witness that can bring Grace instead of Law to people for their salvation!  It is how we “dwell in The Light” and “in The Truth” that is Jesus!

 

Thus this ‘unconditional-love in action’ is key to the kingdom of God coming and God’s will being done on earth as it is in heaven – it central to ‘the binding and loosing’ we often hear about in the NT.  It is the only NT entole commandment given to saved people!  The process of “restoration to wholeness and health” that is integral to salvation involves our “reconciliation with God and people.”  We cannot separate any of this!  Sin, shame, and guilt aren’t “denied, suppressed, sublimated, or deflected” as the world try to do.  Christians aren’t to treat symptoms!  No, we forgive or “throw away the books of the Law of fairness & justice” against ourselves and others at the cross, nailing it to the cross, through total surrender by repentance, confession, and water-baptism, thrown away to Christ’s blood-redeeming justice to cleanse US from ALL unrighteousness so He can be faithful to keep His promise to forgive US.  Justice is served only at the cross.  Yes, we can “loose” this forgiveness on ourselves and even on those who sin against us!

 

Prayer:

   

 

Lord, thank You for fulfilling the Law perfectly so that we can be free from its judgment against us. When we are tempted to do Satan’s work of holding others to the fairness & justice of the Law, remind us of Your great unconditionally-loving-favor-of-grace shown to us and that if we want this for us, we are indebted to give this to others.  Remind us to bless those who curse us, to give kindness and goodness in place of evil, and to intercede for others so that they will be led away from Law to Grace for Your kingdom to come for them as well as for us.

Judgment and unforgiveness actually fails to achieve the “fairness and justice” we seek

The judgment and unforgiveness we ‘keep bound/tied’ to others as a burden/load to carry’ that we’ve seen from the last BLOG reciprocally does the same thing to us, is in fact NOT achieving any “fair or just payback” as we intended.  God does NOT do any judgment until the end of the ages and with absolutely NO input from us.  Every Near-Death-Experience (NDE) survivor says that “The Life Review” they ‘see’ coming is private between a few angels assisting the Lord and you!  We are simply wasting our time and energy by judging them – we have NO say!  It’s only holding us back from God’s kingdom, will, and consequential blessings.  On the Last Day, every one is either in the Lamb’s Book of Life based on solely on our trusting-relying-faith in Christ and God’s unconditional-loving-favor-of-grace because of Christ’s obedient-righteousness or we are NOT in that Book.  Only those that are in that Book have eternal, zoe genuine-life.  Everybody else will be condemned by the Books of Life that will be opened to perfectly justify God’s decision but it is done THEN.

 

Realize that when we point 1 finger at a person, there are 3-4 pointing back at us.  There is only One Lawgiver and Judge and it sure is NOT us!  It’s not our job to even point the Law at others, its ancient words meaning “to point or shoot like an arrow it’s precepts, regulations, ordinances, and commandments,” because as the previous BLOG said, Christians are “absolutely in fact no longer hupo subordinately-under-the-authority-of the Law but under Grace” according to Romans 6:14-15, so why in the world are Christians appealing to the Law?  And it’s not even our job to “point the Law like an arrow” at others, because I’m not their accuser NOW (Satan is) nor their Judge on the LAST Day (Christ is)!

 

Our view is greatly limited so we can’t even come close to judging fairly or equitably, unlike God’s unlimited view and judgment is.  We tend to show favoritism or partiality, only “loving our neighbor as we do ourselves,” but God doesn’t!  Many people despise themselves and thus have self-destructive behavior or commit suicide.  Some people are so egotistical in their self-love.  And “neighbor” means “those like yourself, either family members or fellow Jews.”  This justified the Jews “hating Gentiles, certainly the occupying Romans!”  Can you see how flawed that OT commandment is – see Logos Word of God – BT13.

 

“Love your neighbor as yourself” is NOT Christ’s “completely-different-in-kind, superior ‘New’ (a) commandment” that Jesus said was NOW “My Commandment,” which is actually to “ongoingly, unconditionally-love one another just as I have already unconditionally-loved you.”  This isn’t just your “neighbor” but even those who are “your enemy, those that hate, curse, and persecute you” (b).  It is unconditionally-loving evil sinners, just as Jesus unconditionally-loved us – “God shows His unconditional-love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for US” (c).  “Unconditionally-loving one another”, even sinners, like God/Christ does (d) IS exactly our only identifying witness to the condemned world:  “by this ALL people shall actually experientially, relationally know that you are My disciples” (e).  <Notes> a) chadash, kainos: fresh, completely-different-in-kind, unprecedented, sharing nothing with its predecessors, unique, and superior, b) Matthew 5:43-44; Luke 6:27-28, 35; Romans 12:20 citing Proverbs 25:21 that the Law actually made provision for in Exodus 23:4-5; 1 Peter 3:9, c) Romans 5:8, d) Matthew 5:45; Luke 6:35, e) John 13:35.

 

If we want absolute ‘fairness and equitable justice’ to be exacted on others, then we condemn ourselves, because we are ALL in the same boat – “ALL have sinned, fallen short of God’s standards of the Law, are thus guilty, and therefore deserve eternal death” (a).  If we want God to instead judge us by “the measuring stick” not of the Law but of Christ’s unconditional-loving-favor-of-grace, it’s hypocritical to then demand the “measuring stick” of the “fair, equitable, and just” Law for others.  The “measuring stick” we use on others is often what boomerangs back to us from others, and Jesus says “certainly from God on Judgment Day” (b)!  Why?  Because we demanded from God “fairness and equitable-justice to be served!”  We either want Christ to pay for our sins AND the sins of others or we want the Law that condemns everybody, but we can’t have both.  <Notes> a) Romans 3:10-20, 22-23, b) Matthew 7:2-4; Mark 4:24; Luke 6:38.

 

Our judgment and unforgiveness keeps us “umbilically tethered/tied/bound” to “the Law of commandments expressed in ordinances and regulations” (a) that make up the merited, earned, deserved, conditional old covenant Law, which is exactly what the demon-lawyers use to have a legal right to come into the court room of God to criticize, accuse, convict, and condemn Christians day and night.  Satan sends his minions!  The Holy Spirit “convicts the unbelieving world (not Christians) of sin, righteousness, and judgment.”  That “convicting” voice inside a Christian is NOT the Holy Spirit’s!  It is Satan and his demons!  The Holy Spirit is our Parakletos (b) “Wonderful Counselor” who “comes alongside or close beside us to lead us into all of The Truth, so that we have absolutely in fact no need of any other teacher” (c), the Spirit of Christ that is our gentle (d), unconditionally-loving, and interceding Parakletos Advocate/Defense in God’s courtroom (e). <Notes> a) Ephesians 2:15, b) ‘Close-beside’ caller, summoner, or inviter; helper, succorer, or assistant; encouraging teacher, counselor, comforter, or consoler; defense-attorney, judicial-advocate, or court-intercessor, c) John 14:26, 16:13; 1 John 2:20, 27, d) Matthew 11:29; 1 Corinthians 4:21; 2 Corinthians 10:1; Galatians 5:23, 6:1, e) Romans 8:26-27, 34.

As Christian musicians, if we want God to judge the world, especially those who have wronged us, with “fairness and equity” then we actually condemn ourselves.  There is NO ONE that will escape that kind of judgment!  We desperately need the unconditional-loving-favor-of-grace that we get simply through the “obedience of trusting-relying-faith.”  We can’t have for ourselves what we won’t give others!  Christ’s “NEW commandment to unconditionally-love others” has no-strings attached by definition and by His example, even His death on the cross.  The OT commandment to “love your neighbor as yourself” is completely-different-in-kind that this.  It is “flawed or faulted” and “so set aside” per Hebrews 7:18, 8:7, and Colossians 2:14.  Instead we are to unconditionally-love, bless, and pray for those who hate, curse, and persecute us. Period!

 

Prayer:

   

 

Lord, it definitely is NOT our flesh nature to retaliate with “unconditional-love, blessing, and prayer” for those who have wronged us.  Lord, fill us with Your Holy Spirit so that Your nature of unconditional-love flows out of us instead.  We totally surrender to You.

Forgiveness throws away “the books of the Law”

The Hebrew and Greek words for “forgive” and “forgiveness” mean to send away the “fair and just” Law and its critical and separating “pointing finger” and “separating division” of judgment, sentencing, and condemnation from the person we are saying is being “unfair and unjust” to us, but also to send away this judgment from us!  It doesn’t just mean to “stop or suppress our negative reaction to them” as the English dictionary says and worldly counselors teach, but instead to “lift, carry, or take away, throw away or cancel their trespass, debt, or sin” as the original bible languages say to do.

 

The bible deals with the source of our negative feelings.  God gets at the root of the problem, not just “casting our cares upon Him” but “casting away the ‘fair and just’ judgment of sin” we are holding against others and subsequently against ourselves.  But how?  We can “blot out their transgressions from the ‘record-of-wrongs’ we have kept against them, or better yet, throw away this entire inventory-record-of-debt, no longer counting their sins against them, and remembering them no more,” just as God does for those who receive His free grace-gift of unmerited, unearned, undeserved, unconditionally-loving-favor-of-grace, paid for by Christ’s perfect sacrificial justice. Grace is the opposite of Law!  Christians are supposed to be “absolutely in fact no longer hupo subordinately-under-the-authority-of the Law but under the Grace” according to Romans 6:14-15.

 

God no longer “throws the book at us” on The Great and Terrible Day of the Lord – Judgment Day for the world, because He “threw away our transgressions from the book” and instead wrote our “name in the Lamb’s book of zoe genuine-life.”  This is ONLY true for those who have totally-surrendered to Jesus and are saved by Him – see Salvation!  Instead of continuing to carry the burden of “fretting, worrying, and complaining about evildoers and demanding justice against them,” the Lord tells us to “cast this care upon Him, committing it by rolling the burden off our back onto His back to bear or carry.”  The Lord is the legitimate Judge who should only be carrying this great burden.

 

Where do we “lift, carry, take, or throw away the records-of-wrong or debt” to, such that it won’t be available for us to continue judging others from?  Answer:  onto the back of Christ who takes it to the cross and pays for the “unfairness and injustice” of ALL sin with His own life, so that it is forever blotted out and cancelled from their record but ours too!  Yes, Jesus promised in John 20:23 “If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you withhold forgiveness from any, it is withheld.”  What an awesome but terrifying power!  The parallel passage is Matthew 16:19 and 18:18 “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and/thus whatever you bind/tie on earth shall be bound/tied in heaven, and whatever you loose/untie on earth shall be loosed/untied in heaven.”

 

Forgiveness ‘unties the burden’ of judgment and “the Law of sin and death” off BOTH of our backs by rolling it ALL onto Christ’s back so that He can destroy it ALL on the cross to set us BOTH free. God really does know how unforgiveness hurts BOTH of us!  But forgiveness indeed “sets the captives free” per John 8:36, Ephesians 4:8 citing Psalms 68:18, and Luke 4:18 citing Psalms 146:7 – the very mission of Christ, and part of that freedom is to be “set free from the yoke of captivity to the Law” and its judgment, per Roman 7:6, 23, Galatians 3:23 and 5:1.

 

Reflection:

 

 

As Christian musicians, why do we want anything to do with the Law, which is 97.4% of the OT – see Logos Word of God – BT5a, by “pointing the finger” of critical judgment against another, when that Law points 3-4 fingers back at us to judge, sentence, and condemn us?  Christians are supposed to be absolutely-in-fact no longer subordinately-under-the-authority-of the Law but under Grace!  That’s what is shown to us, so that’s what we are to show toward others!  We have power to “bind/tie” their sins to them, but then it keeps that sin bound/tied to us.  But if we “loose/untie” the burden of the Law off our back and theirs and roll it over to the Lord instead, He will carry/bear it on the cross and destroy it by His blood to cleanse us both and set both of us free from the captivity of that sin!  That is “Mercy/Grace triumphing over Judgment/Law” per James 2:13.  When we “throw the book away” on others, it is thrown away for us too!  Wow!

 

Prayer:

   

 

Lord, set us captives free through the power of grace in and through us, setting us free from the Law and illicitly pretending to be a judge, when You are the ONLY Just Judge and You graciously wait until the very last Day to do this!  Give us Your nature of Unconditional-Love that forgives others even from the cross as You did!

Words of judgment often embrace the Law making us ‘legalistic’

The many words for “judge” or “judgment” come from the root verb krino or noun krisis where we get our word “crisis,” essentially mean to separate things or people into groups, piles, or parties, right or left, right or wrong, sheep or goats – note the political party similarities of ‘the right’ elephants or the ‘the left’ donkeys/asses.  This “separation” is what a judge would do, hopefully rightfully/equitably/fairly critiquing, criticizing, and scrutinizing others by hopefully not being partial or showing favorites to some people while rejecting others.  That the kind of “separation” a bad judge would do.  Judgment treats people as if they were being dragged to court.

 

What’s worse is the attitude of “I can determine a verdict and pass sentence, like any judge would do, whether for acquittal of the charges or condemnation and punishment.”  The context determines if the judgment is legitimate, but the NT tells ordinary people who are not legitimate judges that they simply are in the wrong for trying to be a judge at all.

 

The Law itself acts like a judge, doing this same critical, ‘separating’ of judgement, sentencing, and condemnation.  The Law, lawyers, and the judges all “shoot their arrows” and “points their fingers” right at people.  The Torah/Nomos Law is “a measuring stick” to evaluate people’s relationship with God under the old covenant-agreement by “pointing the way, guiding, or instructing” us about God’s will.

 

Due to the weakness of the flesh, the Law did more than just “make sin experientially, relationally ginosko known” (a) so that “sin might be shown to be sin” (b).  It actually “increases sin in us” (c) because “in the flesh, our sinful passions, aroused by the Law, were at work in our members to bear fruit for death” (d), so “through the commandment sin might become sinful beyond measure” (e).  Thus “the dunamis dynamite-like enabling-power of sin is the Law” (f), especially that “sin, seizing an opportunity through the commandment, deceived us to produce in us all kinds of” sin that the commandment prohibits (g) and/thus “through the commandment kills us” (h).  Is it any wonder Paul calls it “the Law of sin and death” (i)?  The Law was called “the ministry of death” (j)!  Considering how many terrible things are written about the Law in the NT – see Logos Word of God – BT8, it’s crazy that Christians would want anything to do with it!  Yet, Christians still quote and try to follow OT Laws.  These ‘legalistic Christians’ are often the most judgmental because ‘judgment comes from the Law!’  <Notes> a) Romans 7:7, b) Romans 7:13, c) Romans 5:20, d) Romans 7:5, e) Romans 7:13, f) 1 Corinthians 15:56, g) Romans 7:8, h) Romans 7:11, i) Romans 8:2, j) 2 Corinthians 3:7.

 

But not all forms of judgment are wrong!  Some are very right!  The Greek differentiates many forms of right and wrong “judgment” that you would never see in your English bibles!  We’ve seen that krino/krisis simply means “to judge or separate/divide into 2 piles/parties of right or left, right or wrong,” so the context tells us if this is ‘right or wrong’ judgment.  However, there are other Greek words that indicate more clearly other kinds of ‘right or wrong’ judgment – see Unconditional-Love – BT2.  God’s will WAS known by the Law, but under the completely-different-in-kind, superior New Covenant, we should be relying on discernment of good versus evil by the Holy Spirit, especially if we are to “judge rightly” – Least Among You – BT7, – BT8, New Covenant Ways – BT16.

As Christian musicians, once again the OT Law can have profoundly negative effects on us, not just to fan the flames of sin, but to make us ‘legalistic Christians’ when we are supposed to portray Grace, not Law!  Most of the time we don’t have the ‘right’ to be judging others and so when we do, we are actually doing the same thing Satan does – accusing people by the Law to make them feel guilty.  We end up doing His dirty work!  There are a few situations where we are called to judge others, but to “judge rightly” we really need to be listening to the discernment of the Holy Spirit!

Lord, give us Your mind and heart to be full of unconditional-love and grace, not the critical, pointing finger of the Law.  Fill us with Your discernment by the Holy Spirit so that we can rightfully judge between good and evil in OUR own lives.

The forgiveness of unconditional-love versus judgment

Forgiveness of sins is 23% of the Matthew 6:9-14 and 38% of Luke 11:2-4 “Lord’s Prayer” and in Matthew’s account Jesus immediately adds vv. 15-16 to teach more about it!  Mark 11:24-25 links forgiveness to answered prayer.  Matthew 6:14-15, 35 and Luke 6:37 links our forgiveness with forgiving others.  So you can that forgiveness is NOT a side issue but at the CORE of how God’s “kingdom comes and will is done on earth as it is in heaven” AND directly coupled by the use of kai to “in possibility not being eisphero lead-or-brought-unto-the-result-of peirasmos [singular] testing/trying-to-prove-our-genuineness” and in Matthew’s account “but-instead deliver us away-from [singular] evil [one].”  Satan is the “accuser of the brethren” per Revelation 12:10, and we will see he uses the Law to do it!

 

Forgiveness is integral to the unconditional-love God gave to us under a completely-different-in-kind New Covenant by Christ’s blood, so naturally it is the CORE of Christ’s gospel logos message of salvation (a), especially when the Greek word soteria/soterias for “salvation” is a “process of deliverance, reconciliation, and restoration to healthy wholeness.”  Forgiveness is also integral to the unconditional-love Christ officially commands His followers to have:  “My completely-different-in-kind-superior kainos New commandment to you is to ongoingly unconditionally-love one another just as I have already unconditionally-loved you.  By this all people will experientially, relationally ginosko know that you are My disciples/followers if you ongoingly have unconditional-love for one another” (b).  It’s our main witness of Christ!  <Notes> a) Matthew 9:6, 26:28; Mark 2:10; Luke 5:24, 24:47; Acts 2:38, 5:31-32, 10:43, 13:38, 26:18; Romans 4:7; Colossians 1:14; Hebrews 9:22, b) John 13:34-35, 15:12.

 

Unforgiveness by holding onto our ‘accusing’ criticisms/judgments (krino) of others is condemned by the NT because it not only puts ourselves above God’s Law by becoming judges of others when there is only One Judge (a), but it hypocritically demands for/from others what we don’t want for ourselves – absolute justice ‘payback’ retribution for sin.  We want unmerited, unearned, undeserved agape unconditional-love and unconditional-loving-favor-of-grace shown to US through Christ’s sacrificial unconditional-love (b) in order to be freed from the “singular righteous requirement of the Law” (c) of perfect obedience to all 613 commandments, yet we don’t want to show these things to others (d).  Unforgiveness has always been contrary to God’s nature of Unconditional-Love (e) and thus grieves the Holy Spirit (f).  It keeps us umbilically “tethered to” the Law that empowers sin (g) and to the Law that has “bound” us (h), still “burdened or heavy laden” (i) by it, and still “under the dominion” (j) of “the Law of sin and death” (k).  Thus unforgiveness blocks God’s “will being done” and God’s “kingdom of . . . righteousness, joy, and peace by the means of the Holy Spirit” (l) from “coming on earth as it is in heaven.”  That’s why forgiveness is key to the Lord’s Prayer model.  <Notes> a) James 4:11-12, b) 2 Corinthians 13:14; 2 Thessalonians 2:16; 1 Timothy 1:14; 2 John 1:3, c) Romans 8:4, d) Matthew 18:21-35, e) Exodus 34:5-7; Numbers 14:18-19; Nehemiah 9:17; Psalms 86:5; Luke 7:47, f) Ephesians 4:30-32, g) 1 Corinthians 15:56, h) Romans 7:2, i) Matthew 11:30, j) Romans 6:14, k) Romans 8:2, l) Romans 14:17.

 

Even from a medical viewpoint, much has been written about the detrimental results of holding onto judgment and unforgiveness.  Holding onto “resentment, the enormous burden of being hurt and disappointed” according to Dr. Karen Swartz, director of the Mood Disorders Adult consultation Clinic at John Hopkins hospital, increases the risk of heart attacks, elevated cholesterol levels, higher blood pressure and diabetes, more chances of a brain hemorrhage, worsening sleep, greater anxiety and depression, anorexia, bulimia, and increased stress and pain levels.  It includes a wide range of social problems such as negativity, short-temperament, lack of trust, and paranoia.  All of this and more is greatly alleviated through unforgiveness.  Can you see why Jesus makes 23-38% of His prayer model and so much elsewhere in His teaching about this, especially since the definition of “salvation” includes “restoration to healthy wholeness?”

 

The one thing I noticed about the world’s methods of achieving this is that they only deal with mechanisms or techniques to cope with symptoms instead of going to the root of the problem.  If they do suggest “bringing it into the light through confession” or “sending away the offense,” they do this with a ‘magic wand’ to an unspecified or nebulous location, like the way the New-Age confesses and sends it back into the impersonal “Universe.”  They also rely on the patient’s decisive will-power to do this without acknowledging the inherit weakness of man that caused the problem in the first place.

 

Contrastingly, Jesus correctly declares: “the flesh is absolutely asthenes and opheleo ‘inherently weak, feeble, impotent, worthless, useless, and a complete failure” (a).  Trimming dead leaves off a plant that has a sickness affecting its roots doesn’t really fix the plant – the symptoms are bound to show up again or morph into some other problem.  Only the Maker knows how we function best; only the Master Vinedresser or Gardener (b) knows how to cure the root problem with the enabling-power of His Holy Spirit.  That’s why I did this study – to find out exactly what He says about ‘judgment’ and how He cures it with ‘forgiveness’ by His Spirit’s enabling-power.  I’ve got my own baggage to deal with!  <Notes> a) Matthew 26:41; John 6:63, b) John 15:1; Luke 13:7.

Reflection:

 

As Christian musicians, don’t we want our ministry to reflect 1/4 to 1/3 of Christ’s prayer priorities for “His kingdom to come and will to be done on earth as it is in heaven” and reflect the core of the gospel logos message for ourselves and for the world?  It’s even integral to the definition of salvation – reconciliation and restoration of health!  Don’t we want forgiveness and unconditional-love to be our dominant witness in the world?  Aren’t we being hypocritical to want “fair, equitable, exacting justice to be served” on others for their wrong-doing, especially when against us, but then appeal to God’s unconditional love, mercy, and grace for ourselves despite so many sins of omission and commission?  Christ’s completely-different-in-kind, superior commandment “to ongoingly unconditionally-love others, just as I have” far exceeds the OT commandment to “love your neighbor as yourself” that allowed the Jews to “hate their enemies” – see Only 2 Commandments – BT3.

 

Thus Jesus wisely adds to His commandment to the SAVED – see Logos Word of God – BT16:  “just as I have already unconditionally-loved you.”  This is our example, not “loving our neighbor as we love ourselves.”  John 3:16-18 and Romans 5:10 says the whole world, including us, was already condemned as enemies of God, but God still “so unconditionally-loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever is routinely having trusting-relying-faith in Him might in possibility not perish.”  Thus Jesus never reinforced the OT commandment but actually indicated its insufficiency by teaching much on “unconditionally-loving your enemies” (Matthew 5:43-44; Luke 6:27-35).  Judgment and unforgiveness are actually tools of Satan that uses the Law to accuse and condemn us.  When we do these same things, we are actually working for the Devil and he ruins our lives in the process.  We also act as judges, but there is only One Righteous, Just Judge.

 

Prayer:

   

 

 Lord, forgive us for holding onto unforgiveness.  Give us Your enabling-power of the Holy Spirit to “let go” of being judges and “let God” be the Just Judge at the end of time.  Until then, fill us with Your Unconditional-Love so that we will think and feel the way You do towards ALL men.

Can you describe God’s essence of infinite Unconditional-Love in words?

Paul closely associates many words with “unconditional-love” to make various points of his (a), but especially associates joy and peace (b), “for the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking (c) but of righteousness and peace and joy by the means of the Holy Spirit” (d).  Once while jogging around the park proseuchomai conversationally-praying in tongues, I was suddenly overwhelmed with unconditional-love (e) and I had a vision of a soccer ball-sized orange-grapefruit-like fruit in a tree and was told to bite into it.  I reached out, bit into it, and was plastered with overwhelming unconditional-love, but after this subsided I could taste the flavor of joy and I wept with profuse tears of gratitude.  When this subsided I could taste a subtler ‘flavor’ called peace when my whole world became tranquil like a sea of glass.  This seems to be a common pattern! <Notes> a) Romans 1:7; Galatians 5:22; Ephesians 6:23; Philippians 2:2, 4:1; Philemon 1:7; 2 Corinthians 13:11; 1 Thessalonians 5:13; 2 Timothy 2:22, etc., b) Galatians 5:22; Philippians 2:2, 4:1; Philemon 1:7; 2 Corinthians 13:11; Ephesians 6:23; 2 Timothy 2:22; cf. 1 Peter 1:8; Zechariah 8:19; Jeremiah 16:5; Daniel 10:19; Isaiah 54:10 – see Joy and Peaceful-Rest pages, c) concerning Jewish food laws, d) Romans 14:17, e) See Spirit-baptism for Christians who are “routinely filled with the abundant-fullness of God, routinely filled by the Holy Spirit” per Ephesians 3:19 and 5:18.

 

I used to be a wine-taster for a restaurant and took an advanced class on detecting subtle flavors of wines after getting past the dominant, characteristic flavor of red wines:  prune, jam, fig, raisin, black cherry, plum, currant, blackberry, marionberry, blueberry, black current, or raspberry. For white wines: cranberry, pomegranate, red currant, cherry, strawberry, raspberry, plum, goji berry, or dragon fruit.  Although there are more than 10,000 grape varieties in the world, only a few dozen have achieved widespread popularity for reds:  Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere, Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdot, Grenache, Tempranillo, Primitivo, Sangiovese, Syrah/Shiraz, Zinfandel, and for whites:  Chardonnay, Pino grigio, Riesling, Sauvignon blanc, or Zinfandel.

 

I’m sure the Lord had this in mind when He talked about “you will actually, experientially, relationally ginosko know a tree by its [singular] fruit” in Matthew 12:33 and Luke 6:44.  All wine-growers know this!  The first taste and smell will tell you what kind of grape it is.  Careful:  some poorer quality wines are actually a blend of grapes to smooth out the ‘rougher’ qualities of the dominant grape.  See also Unconditional-Love – BT6.

 

After this initial ‘blast’ you start to notice other things, often by smell, that tell you more about the nature of the soil, the crops that were previously planted in the soil, the quality of the air surrounding the vineyard, moisture before harvest, what the wine was stored in, how much yeast was allowed to continue fermenting in the bottle, etc. such as:  earthy, vegetables like onions and peppers, other fruits like lemons and grapefruit, herbs, charcoal/gravel/mineral/gritty, barnyard, cigar, oaky, toasty, tart/acidic versus sweet, bold/tannic verse buttery/smooth/creamy, and bubbly or effervescent.

 

So it is with The Unconditional-Love nature/essence/definition of God the Father, Son, and Spirit:  That’s the initial ‘taste and smell’ of the singular fruit of “The Vine of Christ” per John 15:1-5.  Even “little children, the younger, and other least among you” novices can ‘taste and smell’ this but after this then the closely-associated “joy and then peace,” and that’s why the NT lists those most often together!  A more trained palate will ‘taste and smell’ through their mind, senses, and feelings the rest of Galatians 5:22-23 “longsuffering-regulated-patience, kindness, Godlike-goodness, faith/faithfulness, gentleness, and finally self-control/mastery.  Paul isn’t saying this list is complete either because he expands on these in his later writing of 1 Corinthians 13:4-8.  How can an infinite God with an infinite Unconditional-Love nature be defined by a finite set of words?  Impossible!  See also Unconditional-Love – BT7.

 

Well, I laid in bed for 1 hour just watching and listening for more directly-spoken/heard prophetic rhema words from the Lord about His peaceful-rest from Unconditional-Love – BT14 that is but one dominant ‘flavor’ of His Unconditional-Love, who is Himself.  I felt so comfortable, not only wrapped in my warm blankets but wrapped by The Comforter, the Parakletos (a) Holy Spirit.  And I’ve pondered all this now for 3 hours while writing this, and I should be terribly worried about all my thlipsis ‘tribulations’ for just today, but strangely enough, I really don’t care about them.  I feel at peace!  I know everything is going to turn out just fine because the Lord is with me.  I’m ready to face them.  And I may just rebuke some of them in the name/authority of Jesus!  Now I understand better why Jesus essentially said “let go and let God” – see Surrender Control – BT4, when He talked about the “cares of this world” along with the “deceitfulness of riches that choke out His gospel logos message, then causing it to be unfruitful” (b).  <Notes> a) ‘Close-beside’ caller, summoner, or inviter; helper, succorer, or assistant; encouraging teacher, counselor, comforter, or consoler; defense-attorney, judicial-advocate, or court-intercessor, b) Matthew 13:22; Mark 4:19.

 

So I asked the Lord, “How can I have this peace?”  And He said, “Be IN love WITH Me; Be IN My love FOR you.”  Wow, now that is a Lover!  So, I proseuchomai conversationally-prayed:  “Lord, keep your prophetic rhema words in me, so that I won’t forget, get caught up in the cares of my world, and be afraid. Remind me to go inside the massive Fortress-Rock of your unconditional-love, inside You, to find safety and peace from the incessant crashing winds and waves of this world and its sin.  Remind me to speak with your authority, ‘Shut your mouths up in the name/authority of Jesus!  Shut up!”  Amen!

 

Well at 3 pm today I talked with Obamascare (the ‘tribulation’ of the previous BLOG) and it went so smoothly.  They knew exactly what to do, what form I needed to upload from last year’s taxes, and I’m back on track.  But right before I talked with them I felt the devil coming after me with fear and I just rebuked him and said, “I’m not worrying about this because I’m in the Lord’s hands.  Away from me, in Jesus’ name/authority!”  I kept my peace and I’m really excited for the rest of the day.  Praise the Lord!

 

Reflection:

 

As Christian musicians, let’s not lead people to our church, pastor, worship-team, or choice of songs.  Instead, let’s lead them to infinite Unconditional-Love, the singular fruit, essence, nature, and definition of God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit so that people can genuinely, experientially, relationally epiginosko know God and not just have gnosis bible-information about Him!  Only then will they ever experience the other ‘flavors’ of this “New Wine” of the Spirit (a) such as “joy, peace, longsuffering-regulated-patience, kindness, Godlike-goodness, faith/faithfulness, gentleness, and finally self-control/mastery.”  Thank God that He didn’t just leave us with more “scripture” but instead gave us “the One Teacher” Parakletos “to guide us into ALL the truth” (b) so that “with the anointing of the Holy One you ALL eido mentally ‘see’ to perceive/know so that you have absolutely in fact no need that any person teach you” (c).  Thank God for prophetic rhema words!  <Notes> a) Matthew 9:17; Mark 2:22; Luke 5:37-38; Acts 2:13, New Covenant Ways – BT10, b) John 16:13, c) 1 John 2:20, 27.

11/29/20 a waking vision:  Unconditional-Love contains infinite peaceful-rest

I woke up feeling very agitated with worries about difficulties with our Obamascare application that I have to call them on, feeling bogged down developing this SpiritMusicMeetups website, and other household responsibilities crying out for attention – all competing for my limited time and energy.  My heart was racing with anxiety and depression, not wanting to get out from my warm covers and face the cold room and cold world, even though the bathroom was also crying out to me!  Ugh!  So I cried out to the Lord, “How did you handle so many pressures in Your life and so much rejection?  How did you not worry, get upset, or get depressed?  How?”

 

Then I remembered He was called the “Prince of peace.” However, peace is not what I’m feeling!  I don’t feel at peace with people close to me because I’ve had recent arguments.  I don’t feel peace about the terrible election fraud and media cover up that is going on.  I don’t feel peace about the great doubt over the validity of the incumbent’s rightful re-election that is being stolen – doubts even from Christians that should know better, especially since many prophets have seen God’s plan for the re-election and for America, and I’ve also been given so many prophetic dreams about it as with many friends of mine – how could we all be wrong?  I don’t feel peace about the amount of work left on this website and how it has taken so much time away from other important things in my life.  Much of its development is tedious writing, editing, and design.  I don’t feel at peace about so many things in life actually!

 

What is peace anyway?  The word is sure used a lot in the bible – see also Peaceful-Rest for more details.  In the Hebrew Old Testament 237 times, the noun shalom comes from the verb shalam that means “to make amends or to make whole or complete, without any deficiency or lack.”  Thus the noun speaks of “wholeness and completeness without any lack, and thus the Jewish ‘blessing or invocation of peace’ is for “general welfare or well-being including health.”  In the Greek New Testament 92 times, the noun eirene comes from verb eiro meaning “to join or tie together into a whole.”  Thus the noun means “wholeness, oneness, unity, or reconciliation because all essential parts are joined together. It also carries the idea of quietness and rest.”  Our word “serene,” meaning calm and peaceful, comes from this Greek word.

 

Jesus said that the peace He leaves us is His peace and it’s absolutely not in fact like the peace the world gives us (a).  The world says peace is “the absence or opposite of tribulation (b).”  The world says peace means an escape from tribulation or destruction of it by the use of brute force or even armies.  But Jesus said, “These things I have spoken to you in order that IN/by/with (c) ME you might ongoingly have eirene peace. In the world you will have tribulation, but I strongly urge you to ongoingly be of tharseo good courage/boldness/cheer (e) – I have already, with ongoing results, victoriously conquered (d) the world” (e), where Jesus next talks about going to the cross.  How could He be so calm, tranquil, restful, and quiet while thinking about the suffering of the cross, such a great thlipsis tribulation?  <Notes> a) John 14:27, b) thlipsis: pressures that constrict or rub on us, that hems us in, confines or restricts us, distresses or afflicts us, even persecutes us, c) en followed by the dative case can mean IN the location/sphere of, by the means of, or with the company of, d) nikao from nike, e) John 16:33.

 

Then I saw the Lord sleeping in a boat in a terrible storm while His disciples were yelling and screaming in panic about that boat being swamped with waves and capsizing.  I looked for this story afterwards and found it in Mark 4:35-41.  Even though Jesus was surrounded by all that noise, jostling of the boat (a), and water soaking Him, He was sound asleep in the stern on a cushion, so soundly that His disciples said, “Teacher, don’t you care that we are perishing?  That’s when Jesus woke up!  I asked the Lord in my bed while feeling the world tugging at me from every direction, “How could you possibly sleep through all that?”  Then He answered, “My peace I give you.”  And suddenly all my fears, anxieties, worries, agitation, and restlessness just melted away.  I was as tranquil as an ocean with no waves, like glass perfectly reflecting the clouds.  I thought how impossible it was to feel this way and so I just laid there for the longest time in awe and wonder!  Now I understood what Jesus did in the boat after they woke Him from His peace.  He “rebuked (b) the wind and/coupled spoke (c) to the sea, ‘siopao Silence Now! (d) phimoo Become Speechless Now [with ongoing results]!’  And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.”  He had told the wind and waves to “Shut your mouths now and keep them shut!” <Notes> a) I’ve got sea sick enough times in rough waters to know you can’t sleep from the nausea and fear, b) epitimao: ‘corrected to prevent wrong,’ more wrong in this case, c) imperatively, with forceful urging.

 

That’s what Jesus meant about “speaking to the mountain:  Be taken up and thrown into the sea” (a)!  Jesus made the physical world like His internal world of ‘quietness’ by taking authority over the demons that were trying to “steal, destroy, and kill,” who are taking their orders from those all the way up the chain of command to Satan himself, who is ultimately to blame (b).  Remember that Jesus as the “Messenger of Yahweh” said to Satan, “Yahweh rebuke you, O Satan.  Yahweh who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you!” (c)?  That’s how Jesus took control of the situation!  When Jesus gave me His peace, He replaced my thlipsis tribulation with His eirene peace, just like He did in the boat!  I bet He did it the same way, by rebuking the demons under Satan’s orders!  Satan, the evil one (d), “is in the world” (e) and is the “god of this world” (f), the “ruler of this world” (g), “the prince-ruler of the exousia delegated-authority-power of the air” (h) who is over “the arche ruling-firsts-chiefs, the exousia delegated-authority-powers, for he is the kosmokrator world-ruler (Satan) of this present darkness and of spirit-kind-of [forces] of evil in the heavenly realms” (i), and “the whole world lies in/by/with the evil [one]” (j).  Jesus wasn’t rebuking His heavenly Father, but the “god of this world” Satan!  I really hate it when people and insurance companies blame earthly disasters on God, calling them “Acts of God.”  Blasphemy!  Jesus likely rebuked the demons in my life that were overwhelming me.  Then He gave me His peace. <Notes> a) Mark 11:23, b) John 10:10, c) Zechariah 3:2, d) Matthew 13:19, e) 1 John 4:4, f) 2 Corinthians 4:4, g) John 12:31, 14:30, h) Ephesians 2:2, i) Ephesians 6:12, j) 1 John 5:19.

 

After a long while wallowing in this tranquil peace, I asked the Lord, “How can you have such peace?  Where does this come from?”  Then He reminded me of what He said to the disciples after He quieted the storm, “Why are you actually, presently so dreadfully-afraid (a)?  How are you presently having absolutely in fact yet-still no trusting-relying-faith?” Now I understood that Christ’s peace had to do with His pistis relational conviction of trusting-dependence on His Father.  The result of not having this trusting-relying-faith caused the disciples to freak out in pure terror for the possible loss of their lives!  Peace only comes from a faith-based koinonia fellowship with the Father.  <Notes> a) deilos: dreadful, excessively fearing loss, cowardly.

 

So I understood the theology in my head, but I wanted more, so I asked:  “Why is this so?”  Then He reminded me of the many times I was Spirit-baptized.  Each time I was initially overwhelmed by infinite no-strings-attached, completely non-judging, completely accepting, unconditional-love that pleroo filled me up to completion “with all the pleroma abundant-fullness of God by the means of the Holy Spirit” (a).  But this time, it not only felt like every cell in my body and mind was saturated, I physically felt a covering around me, like my whole body was wet with a heavy “living water,” like it was “anointed with gold oil” an in my 1-25-2021 vision, or in 2008 when I walked into a “wall of pure Unconditional-Love that wrapped its arms around me.”  Then I understood a 10-24-2020 vision of the massive Fortress-Rock and how safe I felt deep inside that sea cave deep inside the Mountain, the Bedrock of Christ.  Then I remembered these Spirit-baptisms and how I felt afterward:  If the whole world around me just suddenly exploded from a nuclear holocaust I wouldn’t care one bit, because where I was right now at the time was zoe genuine-life like I had never experienced before, and where I was right now at that time was the safest place to be in the universe – no harm could possibly come to me because I was deep inside God and God was flowing throughout my entire body with incredible enabling-power.  I was fully protected.  I was saved! <Notes> a) Ephesians 3:19, 5:18.

 

Now I understood the peace of Jesus that “He gives, which is absolutely not like the world’s.” He doesn’t escape from sources of tribulation nor climb over people or destroy them in order to get peace.  Christ’s peace is despite tribulation in the world, but Jesus has the authority through Jesus to speak that peace into the world in order to quiet it down.  Now I understand where that peace comes from – it comes from The Unconditional-Love that is God (G = L and L = G by symmetry) that I understood from Unconditional-Love – BT4 and subsequent BLOGs.  I understood it in my head then, which is gnosis info-knowledge (theology), but now I had experiential, relational ginosko knowledge.

 

After I settled down from the overwhelming nature of this Unconditional-Love, and got past the profuse tears of grateful joy, I could feel this “peace of God that routinely is superiorly surpassing (a) all reasoning mind (b) that shall actually guard (c) your hearts and/coupled your minds IN Christ Jesus” (d).  Exactly!  The peace of God that IS Christ’s that He gave me completely shattered all my human reasoning, because the world has a billion ways to get it, but they are ALL wrong ways – and I’ve tried too many.  God’s peace comes from one place, Himself, especially since “God actually, ongoingly IS defined-as/exists-as Unconditional-Love” (G = L) (f).  <Notes> a) huperecho: is held above, c) nous: mind, reason, intellectual ability, d) phroureo: keep watch like a military sentinel, e) Philippians 4:7, f) 1 John 4:8, 16.

 

Not only did John know this, God has told me this personally many times.  The Unconditional-Love of/belonging to God” is the “genitive case of possession” (a).  It is absolutely not something that He owns, as one of His own creations, and it’s certainly not something that just came along and He grabbed it for Himself.  This is what we do, but not Him!  Agape unconditional-love is the very definition of Him, the eternal, infinite I AM. He eternally exists as this! <Notes> a) Psalms 52:1, 8; Luke 11:42; John 5:42; Romans 8:39; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 2 Thessalonians 3:5; 2 Timothy 3:4; 1 John 2:5, 4:9, 5:3; Jude 1:21.

 

Absolutely everything else we see about God is a reflection from a facet (like from diamond), flavor (of a singular fruit), or further description/aspect of agape Unconditional-Love that is ek out-from-the-interior-of God (L = G) (1 John 4:7).  “The [singular] fruit (b) of the Spirit IS actually, ongoingly agape Unconditional-Love” (b) (S = L) just as John said (G = L and L = G) from the previous BLOGS.  If both the Spirit and God are Unconditional-Love, that makes the Spirit equal to God (G = S = L).  Christ calls us to “meno abide/cohabitate/remain in/by/with My Unconditional-Love” (c), so clearly Jesus is saying that His is Unconditional-Love (J = L), an this is of the Godhead (G = S = J = L)!   See A 11-21-2021 Vision about Meno abiding. <Notes> a) 1 John 4:7, b) karpos: essence or nature, b) Galatians 5:22, c) John 15:9-10.

 

All the other words Paul uses in Galatians 5:22-23: “joy peace patience kindness goodness trusting-relying-faith/faithfulness gentleness self-control” that come after “Unconditional-Love” are without any punctuation or conjunctions, and they can’t be more “fruits” because there is only 1 [singular] fruit-essence-nature-definition of the Spirit and that is Unconditional-Love.  Most scholars agree that these are simply adjective-nouns Paul lists as descriptors/flavors of unconditional-love, the singular fruit, especially because Paul uses most of these words to describe unconditional-love in other writings of his like 1 Corinthians 12:4-7 – see Unconditional-Love-BT7.

As Christian musicians, do we want to be stuck with attempting to intellectually understand ancient words in a foreign language or put our trust in 900 English bible translations that are radically different from one another?  The “promise” of the completely-different-in-kind-superior New Covenant is NOT more bible study like the Jews has perfected, “line upon line, precept upon precept” as God mocked them in Isaiah 28, but “the One Teacher” Holy Spirit of the Father and the Son, infinite Unconditional-Love, dwelling within us so that we may be like little children to discern God’s will NOW by that Holy Spirit.  And instead of just having gnosis info-knowledge in our head, we will have experiential, relational ginosko knowledge in our hearts.  I FELT the peaceful-rest of God and this is simply one “flavor” of the singular-fruit of the Spirit that is Unconditional-Love, which is the ANSWER to all of our needs!

Lord, praise Your name for “keeping this hidden from the so-called ‘wise and understanding ones’ but un-hiding it for little children and the other ‘least among us’ first.”  We totally surrender to You and “wait upon You” for your filling or Spirit-baptism.  Then we will truly be “wise and understanding” by the means of Your Spirit (Zechariah 4:6).

More importantly, in my vision from Unconditional-Love – BT4, I could see that everything I seek is really just for God Himself – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – who is Unconditional-Love.  I seek Christ’s enabling-power and authority in my life to “restore me to wholeness and reconciliation to God” (a).  I seek “every blessing by the means of the Spirit, located in Christ, in the heavenly realms” that God “has already blessed us with” (b).  These things I seek are simply awaiting my “routine proseuche conversational-prayers of trusting-relying-faith” (c) in order to dechomai welcome and lambano “receive or claim for myself” in order to genuinely, experientially, relationally epiginosko know them.  There is order in the process of receiving!  This is the thrust of the Greek for routinely “asking, seeking, and knocking” that Jesus often speaks of, that should be part of routine proseuche conversational-prayer (d). <Notes> a) the meaning of “salvation” in Greek soteria, b) Ephesians 1:3, c) James 5:13-15, d) Matthew 7:7-8; Luke 11:9-10.

 

But it turns out that all of these THINGS I seek are just “grace-gifts of/belonging-to the Holy Spirit” (a).  Because of the fact that “For from Him and through Him and to Him are ALL things” (b), the things I routinely “ask, seek, and knock” are simply ‘aspects, descriptions, flavors, or facets of God,’ the Spirit, already dwelling within my own identity.  However, this entire process starts with routinely “asking, seeking, and knocking” for the agathos excellent-salutary-joyfully-Godlike-good grace-gift of the Holy Spirit Himself (not just His things), which is really is God Himself, who “IS presently/ongoingly defined-as/exists-as Unconditional-Love” (c).  <Notes> a) Hebrews 2:4; Romans 12:3-8; Ephesians 4:7-11; 1 Corinthians 12 & 14, b) Romans 11:36, c) Galatians 5:22; 1 John 4:8, 16.

 

Therefore, what really is the “action-item for us to DO or Work” that the Master-Leader–Teacher Jesus left His audience with at the end of His “Our Father” proseuche prayer model (a) is what we should really be focused on:  “If you then, who are evil, know how to give agathos excellent-salutary-joyfully-Godlike-good grace-gifts to your children, how much more will the Heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who routinely ask (b) Him!”  What we are asking for is God Himself, Unconditional-Love, to be given to us by God’s unconditional-loving-favor-of-grace.  All throughout the NT, this “promised” (c) “grace-gift of the Holy Spirit” (d) is referred to as “the filling or baptism of the Spirit” (e), by which we are to routinely be pleroo filled-to-completion with the abundant-fullness of God by the means of the Spirit, according to Paul (c)!  It’s really asking for the very Presence of God – because EVERY excellent-salutary-joyfully-Godlike-good THING we want in our lives comes from the Presence of “The Unconditional-Love that God presently/ongoingly IS.” It’s really very simple:  Get God and you get Unconditional-Love that “alone is ongoingly excellent-salutary-joyfully-Godlike-good” (d). <Notes> a) Luke 11:13, Matthew 7:7-11, b) aiteo: boldly, as a family right, make a claim from, c) Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4, 2:33, 38-39; cf. Reflection:

 

 

As Christian musicians, are we seeking the blessings of the Christian life or the God whom all blessings flow from?  Has God become a vending machine?  All that we need is the God who IS Unconditional-Love and thus alone IS excellent-salutary-joyfully-Godlike-good.  All that we need is IN that definition of God “For from Him and through Him and to Him are ALL things.”  Isn’t that a lot simpler than giving God a laundry list of needs and wants, like the heathens do with their gods, “for your Father already knows what you need before you ask Him” per Christ’s teaching on prayer in Matthew 6:8?

 

Prayer:

 

 

Thank You Father that I don’t need to constantly remind You of the many things I need and want, like the heathen do, “supposing that they will be heard because of their many words.”  I know that You know me inside and out and because I am Your child, I don’t have to beg.  I am so grateful that I can instead spend my time in prayer being thankful and grateful, and so to worship You.  However, I can relentlessly ask like a little child with confident expectation for Your kingdom to come and Your will to be done, especially for Christ to be ‘my daily bread from heaven that gives zoe genuine-life.’  I can routinely ask to be cleansed from all my debt-of-sin and likewise to help me forgive the debts-of-sin from others who have hurt me, and thus to be delivered away-from the evil one Satan, the slandering accuser, instead of being led into refining-trials because of the deceitfulness and destructiveness of Satan.

 

Most importantly, I can A.S.K. to relentlessly Ask, Seek, and Knock for the excellent-salutary-joyfully-Godlike-good grace-gift of the Holy Spirit to completely-fill me with the abundant-fullness of Yourself by the means of that Spirit.  This is the enabling-power that I desperately want and need so that I can actually do the will of “Your kingdom to come!”  And I know from experience that when the Spirit comes I will be overwhelmed with Unconditional-Love, Your very nature, and thus genuinely, experientially, relationally epiginosko know You that far exceeds any gnosis bible-knowledge (Ephesians 3:19).  Then “all these others things shall be given to me,” just as you promised, especially the “flavors or facets” of Unconditional-Love that are Joy, Peace, . . . Self-Mastery” that further reflect You!

Furthermore, in my vision from Unconditional-Love – BT4, the Lord showed me that even our ‘light’ ‘inside the box of the universe’ was created from Christ, who is Unconditional-Love!  Even ‘light’ is a physical manifestation of the nature of God, who is Unconditional-Love!  All that we perceive as color, black as the absence of color, white as all colors blended, the way light reflects or is absorbed by all created things, and thus all that we perceive as color is the result of Unconditional-Love that is God, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit!

 

Then God revealed to me that St. Francis of Assisi’s eyes were opened to see The Truth of God, Unconditional-Love, that is exactly expressed in creation itself, because as God told me earlier: “All of creation is because of ME, through ME and for ME, and still held together by ME, Unconditional-Love.” So, I looked up Brother Thomas of Celano, St. Francis’ first biographer, who wrote about him: “As he looked out of his cave and down to Assisi from the heights of Mount Subasio, it was as if the whole of creation were spread out beneath his cave, and God’s Goodness rushed in upon him. He could only think of that pure Goodness and how God shares His life with us.  Everything good and beautiful comes from God.  St. Francis praised The Artist in every one of his works; whatever he found in things made, he referred to The Maker.  He rejoiced in all the works of the Lord’s hands, and with joyful vision saw into the Reason and Cause that gave them life.  In beautiful things he came to know The Beauty itself.  They cried out to him, ‘He who made us is infinitely good.”  On the Joy page you will see word definitions that include “beauty.”

 

Exactly! “Only God IS ongoingly defined-as/exists-as agathos excellent-salutary-joyfully-Godlike-good,” Jesus said (a), thus agathosune “excellent-salutary-joyful-Godlike-goodness” (b) is included as a description-flavor-facet of Unconditional-Love, which is the “[singular] fruit (c) of the Spirit” further described in Galatians 5:22-23 with a list of adjective-nouns that Paul later expounds on in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7.  None of these ‘description, flavors, or facets’ of Unconditional-Love are ‘outside God’ but describe the very nature or essence of God that is Unconditional-Love.  “God IS ongoingly defined-as/exists-as excellent-salutary-joyfully-good” (G = g and g = G) and “God IS defined-as/exists-as Unconditional-Love” (G = l and l = G) are not separate statements, but ONE because “Unconditional-Love IS ongoingly defined-as/exists-as excellent-salutary-joyfully-good (l = g, g = l).  The [singular] fruit (c) of God is infinite Unconditional-Love and that it is infinitely Excellent-Salutary-Joyfully-Godlike-Good, then both are infinitely God. <Notes> a) Mark 10:18; Luke 18:19, b) agathosune for agathos:  inherent or intrinsic goodness, a unique quality or condition, excellent or distinguished in quality, respect, uprightness, honor, usefulness, beneficial, salutary, suitable, pleasant, kind, benevolent, agreeable, joyful, c) karpos: essence, nature, for “a tree is known by its fruit” per Matthew 12:33 and Luke 6:44.

 

If all those meanings are in agathos or agothosune “Godlike-good” above in note b, then you can see why “Only God is good!”  Read the incredible revelation God gave me on 12-14-2020 about the “Going, Doing, and Goodness of God.”  Paul concludes that “sincere unconditional-love” means “holding fast to what is agathos good” (a).  Jesus says that “unconditionally-loving [even] your enemies” means agathopoieo “making-to-do Godlike-good” to them, even “lending and expecting nothing in return” for “the Most High is kind to the ungrateful and the evil” (b). God showed me a 100 more connections to so many other verses. Just substitute “Unconditional-Love” (and Grace, which is practically the same) or “Excellent-Salutary-Joyfully-Godlike-Good” into every verse you see the words “God, Father, Son, Jesus, Christ, or Spirit” and will see how your understanding of God and His universe will explode! <Notes> a) Romans 12:9, b) Luke 6:35.

 

Well, as I laid in bed with tears of wonder and awe for 2 hours as God showed me these things and many more things, I realized that I, like St. Francis, could experience more of God, unconditional-love, by really looking at and really listening to the [singular] karpos “fruit-definition-essence-nature” of God, Unconditional-Love, which is displayed in the joyful Beauty of nature that surrounds me, even in my own house’s lush landscaping, and even in my drumming.  King David in Psalms 19:1-4 said it well: “The heavens declare the glory of God and the sky above proclaims His handiwork.  Day to day pours out a directly-spoken/heard prophetic rhema word and night to night reveals knowledge (a). There is no laleo speeches/stories nor logos messages where their voices are absolutely not in fact or in possibility akouo heard/listened-to-understand/know. [Their] metrical musical sound (b), goes throughout all the earth, and [their] directly-spoken/heard prophetic rhema words to the end of the world.”  Surely “the glory of God” is the nature/essence of God that is Unconditional-Love!  Surely that is what is being “declared . . . revealed . . . spoken and heard!”  It’s all about love!  <Notes> a) da’ath: discernment, understanding, wisdom; gnosis: informational understanding, b) qav: measuring line, a musical string or accord, poetic musical-rhythm; phythoggos: musical utterance.

 

“The voice” of the heavens and sky and each passing day and night is directly-speaking prophetic rhema words to us to create the content of logos messages and it is these that have the musical tones and rhythms of a great poem or psalm, and they reveal information, understanding, and wisdom about God, and I believe is the one glorious nature of One God that is Unconditional-Love.  So all of creation is saying: “I AM Unconditional-Love and everything is a reflection of ME!”  String theory says that all of creation is actually vibrating at different frequencies and the nature of this is what differentiates all of creation!  Anointed musicians are tapping into hearing God’s voice, the sound of unconditional-love!

 

Reflection:

 

 

As Christian musicians, since “everything created is from Him” and God IS Unconditional-Love, then it makes sense that even “the light shown in the darkness” is a reflection or facet of the [singular] fruit/essence/nature of Unconditional-Love that God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are.  That means white, black, and all colors are an emanation or reflection of Unconditional-Love.  Even “excellent-salutary-joyful-Godlike-goodness” and the joy of Beauty is an aspect of Unconditional-Love.  If we look LONG enough at ALL of creation we will see, hear, and feel the fruit, definition, nature, or essence of God that is Unconditional-Love.

Lord, we know that You can be seen, heard, and felt through ALL the things that you have made, for they were created by Unconditional-Love and are held together by it.  Open our ears that we have in order to truly understand Your Voice.  Open our eyes that have that we may actually see what You are doing.  Open our emotions that we have in order to actually feel Your feelings.  Then we will understand and know You, Unconditional-Love, better!

From the first Unconditional-Love – BT4, the Lord continued to show me that unconditional-love exists ‘inside the box’ of our universe, even in us, even shown to others and even towards our enemies, ONLY because “God IS presently/ongoingly defined-as/exists-as Unconditional-Love” (G = L) according to 1 John 4:8, 16, WHO existed eternity-past ‘outside the box’ of our universe.  This Unconditional-Love is just as infinite and eternal as God is, by the definition of “IS/=” in the Greek present indicative.  For “all things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities – all things were created by Him, through Him, and for Him” (a), so “at the name/authority of Jesus every knee shall bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus is Christ is Lord (b) to the glory of God the Father” (c), for “He is before all things, and in/by/with Him all things hold together” (d).  Without “God existing as infinitely, eternally Unconditional-Love” (G = L), there would be no unconditional-love ‘inside the box’ of our universe, INside Christians (G = L –> C) to show towards God (Upwards-Vertical love:  G = L –> C –> G) or toward people (Horizontal love:  G = L –> C –> P), and actually, there would be no universe at all!  That’s what God showed me! <Notes> a) Colossians 1:16, b) Kurios: Master, rightful owner of all, c) Philippians 2:10-11, d) Colossians 1:17.

 

The “God = Unconditional-Love” (G = L) and “Unconditional-Love = God” (L = G) symmetry of equality was also confirmed by my wife’s directly-spoken/heard prophetic rhema word from Christ concerning Father-God: “My place is to stand where no one has stood – between God and man. I relieve the misery of separation. When the two meet I have done My work and continue to do My work. I hold you two together. If the bond were to break, the fall would be cataclysmic because Love is God and Love holds all things together. Where there is a bond it must not break.  Were you to turn away and refuse ‘your love match,’ the whole world would disappear. It exists for love.  Do you understand?  I’m not sure you do.  Love is ME and Love holds everything together.  Love is in everything.  Why take out the glue and try to tear it apart?  Self-destruction!  People are trying to disassemble their world.”  Wow!  Can you see why hearing directly from God’s directly-spoken/heard prophetic rhema words is so important?

 

It’s so ridiculous that the scientists are still stuck thinking ‘inside the box,’ looking for the “unifying glue that holds all things together” as if it originated ‘inside the box’ of the universe, when all the while it’s right under their noses – “Unconditional-Love that holds everything together” is Christ as God!  Jesus not only keeps Father-God connected to mankind, He keeps the universe that Father-God originally thought into being from flying apart!

 

That’s what was revealed to the apostle John: “In the beginning is continually (a) The Logos (b), and The Logos is continually (a) located at the destination of (c) God, and The Logos is continually (a) God – this same is continually (a) in the beginning located at the destination of (c) God. All things were made through Him, and/thus without Him not one thing was made that was made.  In Him was zoe genuine-life, and that zoe genuine-life is continually (a) the light of men. . . . The True Light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. He is continually (a) in the world, and/even [though] the world was made through Him, even [then] the world did not experientially, relationally ginosko know Him.  He came to His own [people], and/yet His own people did not come-in-close-to-grab-hold-of-to-receive (d) Him, but to all who did come-close-in-to-grab-hold-of-to-receive (d) Him – who put their pistis trusting-relying-faith in His name (e), He gave them the right/privilege to become the children of God . . . And The Logos became flesh and dwelt en in/by/with (f) us, and we have seen His glory, [a singular] glory as of the Only Begotten [One] (g) close-beside the Father, completely-full of [singular] unconditional-loving-favor-of-grace and/coupled [singular] Truth (h) . . . . For the Law was given through Moses; but-contrastingly, The Unconditional-Loving-Favor-of-Grace and/coupled The Truth (h) came into being (i) thru-the-realizing-channel-of Jesus Christ” (j). The Unconditional-Loving-Favor-of-Grace is coupled with The Truth!  <Notes> a) the rare imperfect verb tense, b) Greek: The Message-Content Communicator – see Logos Word of God, c) pros followed by accusative case, d) paralambano: take-hold or grab for oneself by being relationally near-to or close-beside it, e) person and authority, g) en is a preposition and with the dative case, can mean in the location of, by the means of, or with the company of, as here,  g) monogenes: Unique One ‘genetically’ existing or being from, h) aletheia: absolute reality or truth – see The Truth page, i), ginomai, the root verb of monogenes, j) John 1:1-14, 17.

 

Don’t look to the 5 books of Moses, or the old covenant Law that saturates 97.4% of the OT – see Logos Word of God – BT5a, for anything that resembles the “Absolute Reality” about God because it is absolutely not about the Unconditional-Loving-Favor-of-Grace of God, which is The Truth about God!  That’s why Jesus is The Unconditional-Loving-Favor-of-Grace and The Truth per John 14:6!

 

Reflection:

 

 

As Christian musicians, if you only have enough trusting-relying-faith to learn about God from the bible, you are missing the very intent of its writers – for you to learn directly from God through prophetic-rhema-words!  Can you see how the Lord fills in so much between the lines?  Unconditional-Love = God = Jesus = Spirit and that is the “unifying-force” holding all things together, but it’s NOT part of creation, but is the Creator!  The scientists are looking in the wrong direction so they will never find it!  The more we are filled with God downwardly, the more we are filled with unconditional-love within us to love God upwardly and others horizontally.  All things are from and back to Him!  Most of the OT is the Law and doesn’t even point to NT realities.  The Law is NOT The Grace of God nor The Truth about God.  Jesus is both of these!  Like those scientists, if you are looking in the wrong direction for The Grace or The Truth, you will never find it!

Lord, thank You so much for giving us new revelation that helps explain the old revelation but also to simply guide us to the absolute Truth about You by the means of “the One Teacher” who Holy Spirit of Christ.

What then is a Christian’s “indebtedness” to unconditionally-love?

We saw from the previous BLOG the argument of 1 John 4:11, “If God already SO unconditionally-loved us, we kai subsequently (a) opheilo are-indebted (b) to ongoingly unconditionally-love one another,” which is an extension of what John said earlier in 1 John 3:16 “By this we have already [with ongoing effects] experientially, relationally ginosko known unconditional-love:  Because He (Jesus) already laid-aside-life-to-die (c) His psyche soul (d) for us, kai likewise we opheilo ongoingly are-indebted (b) to wholly/definitively lay-aside-life (c) our souls (d) for the brethren.”  The NT use of this word opheilo here for “indebtedness” is not a “work to remove debt” because that’s what the “propitiation of Christ” did, which is the exact point of 1 John 4:10.  Instead, this “indebtedness” is that of 1 Thessalonians 1:3 “labor of unconditional-love” as an act of gratitude or thanksgiving.  <Notes> a) kai usually means coupled-with, but can sometimes mean “still, besides, subsequently, moreover, likewise, even, indeed, namely, specifically,” b) opheilo: owe, are indebted or obliged to rectify/pay-off a legitimate debt, even of moral responsibility, c) tithemi:  set or lay into place – even downwards as with bowing or kneeling, to lay off or aside to carry no longer – even one’s life thus to die, purposefully establish or ordain into a fixed position, sometimes used of leadership – see Coaches and Facilitators, c) psyche:  mind, emotions, will – see Identity page.

 

What a Christian really opheilo ‘ought to do’ is continually have Christ’s unconditional-love fill their lives (Downwards-Vertical-Love) so that they, too, can say with Paul: “For the unconditional-love of/belonging-to Christ ongoingly sunecho ‘controls, preoccupies, constrains, or compels’ us, having krino judged-decided-by-separation this:  That One has already apothnesko away-from-life-died for ALL, therefore ALL have already apothnesko away-from-life-died, kai specifically (a) He already apothnesko away-from-life-died for ALL in order that those routinely still-living might (b) live absolutely-in-fact no longer reflexively-for-themselves but instead for the [One], [who] huper on-behalf-of (c) of them, having already apothnesko away-from-life-died and/coupled having already been raised” (d) – this is what Jesus did “on-behalf-of them.”  No one forces us to experience this – thus the use of the subjunctive “might.”  It’s our free-will response of gratitude, not forced obligation, duty, or legal requirement (as with the Old Testament Law) to pay back indebtedness.  <Notes> a) see note ‘a’ above, b) subjunctive mood of possibility, c) huper:  beyond/above, to extend benefit, help, betterment, or advantage beyond the present situation because of one’s particular interest, d) 2 Corinthians 5:14-15.

 

Preachers who harp on the OT commandment to “Love God with all your . . .” (Upwards-Vertical-Love) or harp on the OT commandment to “Love your neighbor as yourself” (Horizontal-love) are simply “teachers of the Law” desiring for people “to submit again to a yoke of slavery” (a), to “turn back again to the asthenes weak-worthless-beggarly-poor and/coupled ptochos destitute stoicheion elementary or rudimentary ‘abc’ fundamental principles of this world (and ALL its religions, including Judaism), whose slaves you want to be once more” (b).  However, Christians are “not under Law but under unconditional-loving-favor-of-grace” (c) for God “ongoingly anaireo takes/lifts-up/away-to-abolish/abrogate the first [covenant] in order to histemi establish (d) the second [covenant]” (e), because the OT covenant was “memphomai faulted-blameworthy-rejectable-condemnable” (g) and “thus palaioo made old-obsolete” (g) (h).  <Notes> a) Galatians 5:1, b) Galatians 4:9, c) Romans 6:14-15, d) set into place, made to stand up, balanced into place – this is another term used for those “placed” into leadership – see Coaches & Facilitators, e) Hebrews 10:9, f) Hebrews 8:7, g) palaioo: not just old, dated, or ancient in time, but also worn out by use, or worse for wear, obsolete, h) Hebrews 8:13.

 

Our opheilo ongoingly “indebtedness” is to stop listening to these ‘pushers’ of OT commandments and start listening to what the NT actually teaches!  The solution is not more Law but more dechomai receiving-welcoming and lambano seizing-for-yourself of God’s Downward-Vertical-Love by more “routine aiteo ‘asking for, seeking or earnestly desiring’ for His kingdom to come and His will to be done,” and more “routine aiteo ‘asking for, seeking or earnestly desiring’ for the good grace-gift of the Holy Spirit” that is actually the enabling-power of the God’s reign for “His kingdom to come.”

 

The Unconditional-Love of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit IS the ‘team of horses that PULL the cart’ of us Upward-Vertically loving God and Horizontally-loving people. Too many churches try to “get the cart before the horses” as if the “horses are PUSHING the cart,” by incessantly preaching commandments or “obligation/duty” to “love God” by obeying Him to “love others.”  However, that is the OT Way or emphasis of ‘PUSHING people from their back.’  This betrays the NT Way or emphasis of ‘PULLING people from their front’ by leading or guiding them or setting an example to follow:  The Unconditional-Love of God through Christ and His Spirit pleroo filling-to-completion Christians (Downwards-Vertical-Love) so that this divine fruit/nature/essence/definition of God as Unconditional-Love overflows from us into unconditional-love for God (Upwards-Vertical-love) and unconditional-love for people (Horizontal-love).  Now the Lord is ‘PULLING the cart!’

 

The Lord showed me that anytime you feel something really ‘PUSHING you from behind’ and making you feel guilty if you don’t obey, it’s actually the demonic spirit of the taskmaster!  The taskmasters that whipped the backs of the Jews for 400 years to make bricks from mud and straw to build Egypt’s buildings, were themselves being ‘whipped’ verbally (maybe even physically) by their superiors if they didn’t obey, and so on up the hierarchy of command.  This obedience really is just a “burden or yoke of slavery” (a), which is NOT Christ’s Way of gentleness, well-fitted comfort, and lightness to carry (b), nor should it be of the Church or its leadership (c), because “Christ’s Law” to “unconditionally-love one another as I have unconditionally-loved you” (d) is to “bear/help-carry one another’s burdens” (e).  The ‘whipping’ along the chain of command starts by Satan ‘whipping’ his subordinates for their failures.  You know the saying, “the fish stinks from the head down” and the other saying that “shit rolls downhill” – well this ‘whipping’ goes all the way down from the top to the bottom.  These are the over-bearing, micro-managing, berating bosses we’ve all had!  They are being ‘PUSHED’ and ‘whipped’ from a chain of command, ultimately by a chain of demonic forces!   <Notes> a) Galatians 5:1; Matthew 23:4; Luke 11:46, b) Matthew 11:30; 1 John 5:3; Revelation 2:24, c) Acts 15:28; 2 Corinthians 8:13, 11:9, 12:13-16; 1 Thessalonians 2:9; 2 Thessalonians 3:8; 1 Timothy 5:16, d) John 13:34, 15:12; 1 John 3:23; 2 John 1:5, e) Galatians 6:2, f) Revelation 12:10.

 

The source of all this is “the accuser of the brethren” giving legal assignments to his army of lawyer demons that accuse us in the Court of God all day long (a).  He and his demon-lawyers use the ‘musts’ or ‘have-tos’ or ‘shoulds’ or ‘ought-tos’ of the Law to ‘PUSH’ us from behind and if we don’t obey, they accuse us before God and make us feel guilty and worthy of condemnation.  If we fail to obey, they make us angry at ourselves and want to give up entirely on God.  Many people have committed suicide as a result!  If we don’t they just keep ‘whipping’ us, even when we are down!  This is the great deceiver, masquerading as the Voice of God, even as an ‘angel of light” (b), preaching “a different gospel which is no gospel (The Great News) at all” (c).  The OT commandments, that make up 97.4% of the OT (d), are ALL terribly bad news, telling us that we all are failures, worthless, and worthy of condemnation and death (e), thus appropriately called “the Law of sin and death” (f) because the “sting of death is sin and/coupled the dunamis dynamite-like enabling-power of sin is the Law” (g). <Notes> a) Revelation 12:10, b) 2 Corinthians 11:14, c) Galatians 1:6, d) see Logos Word of God – BT5a, e) 2 Corinthians 3:7, 9; Romans 3:10-20 citing:  Psalms 14:1-3, 53:1-3, 5:9, Jeremiah 5:16, Psalms 140:3, 10:7, Proverbs 1:16, Isaiah 59:7-8, Psalms 36:1, f) Romans 8:2, g) 1 Corinthians 15:56.

 

A lot of preachers are deceived and deceiving.  They are preaching the Law that says all that matters is that the ‘cart is moving,’ because the ‘ends justify the means,’ and the fastest way to do that is to take control by ‘putting the cart before the horses’ so that ‘the horses can PUSH the cart.’  The ‘moving cart’ is the Torah or Nomos ‘instruction’ of God as expressed by the Law of commandments, rules, regulations, ordinances, decrees, and precepts issued from The Judge.  This is 97.4% of the OT as note ‘d’ above indicates!  The ‘horses’ are us, but in order for them to ‘PUSH ’ the cart of God’s intended righteousness and holiness forward into this world, you will have to ‘whip’ those horses (us) constantly, because it will be as difficult as making bricks from mud and straw, especially when they cut back the amount of straw as they did the Jews to punish them for insubordination.  PUSHING is way more inefficient than PULLING!  The taskmasters will “whip” the horses (us) even harder until we work faster, harder, and longer to ‘PUSH’ that “Law cart of intended righteousness and holiness” even over rocky terrain and uphill.  And if we slack or complain or stop out of exhaustion, they will ‘whip’ us harder!  This is the impossibly ‘bad news’ of the Law, and the accusing demon-lawyers use it all day and night against us!  Only 2.6% of the OT prophesied of the New Testament, and so this is ‘the portion’ in front of ‘the Law cart’ – see Logos Word of God – BT6.

 

What’s an even greater deception is that many preachers say this ‘whipping’ of Christians is actually “the conviction of the Holy Spirit” keeping us from sin, calling us to righteousness, and avoiding judgment so then we have no fear of it.  Blasphemy!  The only verse that talks about this (John 16:8) clearly in context is speaking about convicting an unbelieving “world” of the sin of not having trusting-relying-faith in Jesus, the Righteous and Holy One, thus rejecting “righteousness of Christ” as the only solution to sin, and thus facing “the judgment to come” for rejecting this solution!  It is blasphemy to say the Holy Spirit is a ‘taskmaster’ to ‘PUSH’ Christians.  Blasphemy!

 

But Christ’s ‘Great News’ gospel is the exact opposite because the NT is ‘in front’ of the OT.  God accomplishes His desired ‘cart motion’ of righteousness and holiness, the “good works ordained for us” (a) NOW in a completely-different-in-kind, superior NEW WAY of the like-kind New Covenant!  He already accomplished it completely through His Son and then takes that burden of obedience away from us, voiding that contract, and thus katargeo abolishing our obligation/duty to it (b).  Thus God put the OT behind us where it belongs!  NOW Paul speaks of Jesus’ victory:  “having already forgiven us ALL our trespasses (c), already having blotted-out/erased the cheirographon handwriting by the means of dogma ‘doctrines, propositions, decrees, laws, or ordinances’ that stood-over-opposite-against us.  This He airo ‘lifts/raises up upon Himself to carry, thus bears it,’ nailing it to the cross.  He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in Him” (e).  Christ legally takes the power away from the demon-lawyer accusing-taskmasters, even making a public spectacle of them!  Remember, the dunamis, dynamite enabling-power of sin is the Law” (f).  That’s why Jesus had to katargeo abolish it, so they have no legal right to use the Law against us.  Now in court, our Parakletos Advocate Jesus rebuked Satan (g) and NOW his lawyer-demon representatives, even giving Christians authority of them (h), and says, “Not guilty, paid in full by MY obedience, by My blood. They are now acquitted of all charges. Case closed. Next case.”  Those lawyers have to leave in shame, empty-handed, and go back to their demon superiors to likely be ‘whipped’ for failure! <Notes> a) Matthew 5:16; Ephesians 2:10; 1 Timothy 6:18; Titus 2:7, 14, 3:8, 14; Hebrews 10:24, b) Romans 7:6; Ephesians 2:15; 2 Corinthians 3:14, c) paraptoma:  falling away, lapse, slip, error, or deviation after being close-beside The Truth, d) airo:  lifts up, raises upward, elevates, draws upward; take upon oneself and carry what has been raised up, thus bear; to bear/carry away what has been raised, e) Colossian 2:13-15, f) 1 Corinthians 15:56, g) Zechariah 3:2, cf. Mark 8:33, h) Matthew 16:19, 18:18; Mark 3:15; Luke 9:1.

 

Now the Lord accomplishes His ‘cart motion’ of righteousness and holiness IN us a completely-different-in-kind WAY!  He pours out His saving unconditional-love Downwards-Vertically to us by Christ and INTO us by the indwelling Holy Spirit.  Then this supernaturally ‘PULLS’ us forward by “ongoingly sunecho ‘controlling, preoccupying, constraining, or compelling” us as Paul declared above.  It not only ‘PULLS on our heart-strings,’ it ‘lifts us up’ towards “things above” (a) like the rapture will.  This is the Lover calling His beloved!  This is wooing and courtship!  <Notes> a) Colossians 3:1-2.

 

What has the Lord done?  He put the ‘horse-power’ – the enabling-power of the Holy Spirit – INTO ‘the horses’ (us) and He put the ‘moving cart of righteousness and holiness’ behind us where it belongs, like the OT should be,  and NOW that “cart” doesn’t constantly have to be kept ‘clean’ or ‘purified’ through our constant “works of righteousness” because by Christ’s blood, our confession of faith in it, and the Advocate’s intercession of the “Holy and Righteous One” we are forever kept clean and purified holy!

 

Now the inwardly-empowered Christian ‘horses’ no longer having to be ‘whipped’ from behind or even ‘whipped’ from within by Satan and his demons, but NOW the Christian ‘horses’ are deeply unconditionally-loved by God, which from heaven ‘lifts or PULLS us up,’ with a dunamis dynamite-like enabling-power that can finally move ‘the cart of righteousness and holiness” forward to accomplish God’s kingdom and will here on earth as it already is in heaven.  That’s how the Lord gets His work done, by giving us His unconditional-love that works IN us, making us His workmanship (a), and through us reflexively back up to Himself (Upwards-Vertical-love) but also out to others (Horizontal-love).  That’s how the essence of the 2 greatest OT commandments to “Love God and love others” that sums up the entire OT Law, NOW actually gets done!  He does it a completely-different-in-kind NEW WAY – by the like-kind NEW Covenant (NT), not by the palaios “old, antiquated, worn-out, useless” covenant (OT).  He puts the NT ‘in front’ of the OT, but religious Christians and churches will always try to “borrow” from the OT to ‘PUSH’ Christians by ‘guilting’ them into obedience, but this is putting the OT ‘in front’ of the NT, the ‘cart before the horses’ – and this is why all this is the foundational problem of The Great Wall quenching the Holy Spirit in the Church. <Notes> a) Ephesians 2:10; Philippians 2:13; 1 Corinthians 12:6, 15:10; Hebrews 13:21.

 

Reflection:

 

 

As Christian musicians, do we want to continue the demon-lawyer ‘taskmaster’ use of the palaios “old, antiquated, worn-out, useless” covenant to ‘whip’ people into obedience, ‘whipping’ us like horses to ‘push the cart of holiness up the hill?’  Or are we going to embrace the completely-different-in-kind New Covenant WAY of routinely, relentlessly asking for God to fill-to-completion our mind/heart/inner-being by His Holy Spirit of Unconditional-Love and patiently waiting for God to work in us both to desire and to do His good pleasure, so that His Unconditional-Love then ‘lifts’ the horses heavenward, NOW giving us the supernaturally-enabling-power to ‘pull’ the cart of righteousness and holiness forward for His kingdom to actually come on earth as it already is in heaven?  Our “indebtedness” is no longer to obedience to “the works of righteousness” but to “live for Jesus” out of gratitude, thanksgiving, and worship for Christ’s demonstration of unconditional-love.  We are to ongoingly “unconditionally-love others JUST AS Jesus unconditionally-loved us.”

 

If there is any ‘duty or obligation’ it really is to dechomai receive-welcome and lambano seize-for-yourself the grace-gift of Christ’s unconditional-love.  It is to “routinely be filled-to-completion with the abundant-fullness of God by the means of the Holy Spirit” so that we can continue to genuinely, experientially, relationally epiginosko know the Lord and overflow His unconditional-love back up to God and to others, thus fulfilling the essence of the OT but from the inside-out.  We are no longer following rules, but Jesus!  We are no longer working FOR God but letting God work IN us!  For Christ’s experienced unconditional-love now “ongoingly sunecho ‘controls, preoccupies, constrains, or compels’ us!”  What we ‘ought’ to stop doing is listening to preachers who aren’t preaching the Great News Gospel, but just cleverly disguising (or often openly) the rules of the OT.  Stop listening to this garbage – it will send you straight to hell, for “the power of sin is the Law of commandments!”  What we ‘ought’ to stop doing is also listening to the ‘taskmaster’ demon-lawyers using the Law to condemn us.  Take authority to ‘bind’ them and kick them out of God’s court and then ‘loose’ more of the Holy Spirit in your life!

Lord, thank You so much for abolishing the Law of commandments and thus disarming those demon-lawyers from having the right to accuse us before You.  Now we can be free from being pushed from behind to do “works of righteousness” but instead focus everything on experiencing more of Your Unconditional-Love nature and allowing You to work IN and through us to accomplish Your will on earth as it is in heaven.  Thank You for bringing it from our “might and power” efforts back to relationship “by My Spirit” so that even little children and “the least among us” can have this great supernatural, enabling-power of God in their lives!

Horizontal-love for people and Vertical-love for God depends on Vertical-Love from God

When unconditional-love comes ek out-from-the-interior-of Christians (C) Horizontally for People (P), mathematically shown as C –> L –> P, or even Upwards-Vertically back up to God (C –> L –> G), what is actually happening is God is coming out from Christians (C –> G) because of God being unconditional-love (G = L) and unconditional-love coming ek out-from-the-interior-of God (G –> L) making unconditional-love equal to God (L = G) – see Unconditional-Love – BT8, and this Horizonal-love for People (C –> L –> P) is actually Downwards-Vertical-Love from God to Christians (G = L –> C) flowing through Christians to People (G = L = G –> C –> L –> P) and even Upwards-Vertically back up to God (G = L = G –> C –> L –> G).  This is what Christian service actually is – it witnesses God within Christians, giving God’s unconditional-love (God Himself) not only to Christians but through Christians to People and back up to Himself.  That’s how Paul could say “For from Him and through Him and to Him are ALL things” (a) so “that God may be all in ALL” (b). <Notes> a) Romans 11:36, b) 1 Corinthians 15:28.

 

But we’ve seen this from the previous BLOG in 1 John 4:7-8 that says: “Beloved, let us unconditionally-love one another, for this unconditional-love (L) ongoingly exists/is-defined-as ek out-from-the-interior-of God (G –> L) and/thus everyone [who is] routinely unconditionally-loving, [this one] has been begotten ek out-from-the-interior-of God and/coupled [this one] experientially, relationally, ginosko knows God.  Anyone who is not in possibility routinely unconditionally-loving, has absolutely in fact not already experientially, relationally, ginosko known God because God ongoingly IS/defined-as/exists-as Unconditional-Love” (G = L).

 

That’s exactly John’s point: God the Father, Son, and Spirit’s fruit/essence/nature of unconditional-love flowing Vertically-Downwards into Christians (G = L = G –> L –> C), where it produces unconditional-love IN us by the means of the Holy Spirit (a) for others, which is either Horizontal unconditional-love to People (G = L = G –> L –> C –> L –> P), or reciprocally back Vertically-Upward to God (G = L = G –> L –> C –> L –> G).  Can you see how the Vertically-Downwards unconditional-love of God is the reason for not only our Vertical-Upwards unconditional-love for God but Horizontal unconditional-love for people in 1 John 4:10-11 “This is unconditional-love:  absolutely in fact not that we already have [with ongoing effects] unconditional-loved God but that He already [in the past] unconditional-loved us, coupled/namely (b) sent his Son to be the propitiation (c) for our sins.  Beloved, if God already SO unconditional-loved us, we also (b) opheilo are-indebted (d) to presently/ongoingly unconditional-love one another.”  <Notes> a) Romans 5:5, 15:30; Galatians 5:22; Colossians 1:8, b) kai often means and-coupled, but can also mean “still, besides, also, moreover, likewise, even, indeed, namely, specifically”, c) propitiation or atonement means sin in our flesh transferred into His flesh on the cross so that at His resurrection His righteousness is transferred to us, d) opheilo: owe, are indebted or obliged to rectify/pay-off a legitimate debt, even of moral responsibility.  The NT use of this word it not a “work to remove debt” because that’s what the “propitiation of Christ” did.  It is a 1 Thessalonians 1:3 “labor of unconditional-love” act of gratitude or thanksgiving.  The next BLOG will talk about this more.

 

But working backwards through 1 John 4:7-8, John also says:  Unconditionally-loving People (L –> P) and God (L –> G) actually proves we really are Christians (C) who have received God’s unconditionally-loving fruit/essence/nature that begot (birthed) us from God, so the whole process from God to Christians to People (G = L = G –> C –> L –> P) or back to God (G = L = G –> C –> L –> G) all depends on God!

 

I never really understood this “Unconditional-Love = God” (L = G) and “God = Unconditional-Love” (G = L) mathematical symmetry of equality until this vision that started back in Unconditional-Love – BT4, but it explains that “our unconditional-love for People” or “for God” completely depends on “God ongoingly IS defined-as/existing-as Unconditional-Love” (G = L) and His Downwards unconditional-love shown toward Christians through Christ (G = L –> C).  However, we can’t get the latter confused with the former.  We can’t confuse the cart with the horses or get the cart before the horses.  God’s nature and demonstrated unconditional-love is the “horse-power” that pulls the cart!

 

I’ve heard so many preachers say:  “Our horizontal fellowship with others relies on our vertical fellowship with God,” and then they put this all on our shoulders – that our “Upwards-love” is the real problem with our Horizontal-love for people, so “time to get to work on your fellowship with God!”  This is just rephrasing the OT commandment to “Love God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength!”  I’ve heard other preachers say:  “We are commanded to love others, so do your Christian duty and be obedient to Christ.  Get busy loving others.”  But this is just rephrasing the OT commandment to “Love your neighbor as yourself.”  We are right back to obedience from our own “might and power” to please God – works FOR God.

 

In fact, many preachers don’t even try to hide their fondness for OT commandments.  Paul would call them “false-teachers” (a) because they are “teachers of the Law” (b), even “false brethren secretly brought in to spy our our freedom [from the Law] we have in Christ” (c).  However, Paul was recognized as one who spoke against the Law (d), and warned Timothy against such people (e).  The NT speaks many negative things against obedience to any part of the Law (or “the different spirit” of the Law – 2 Corinthians 11:4) and those who teach it – see Logos Word of God – BT8.  Once you get on any part of that slippery slope, like I have heard so many preachers do, you will slip to the bottom of the slope and be right back into slavery to the Law, a Law that nobody can keep, a Law that made nothing perfect, the Law of sin and death, and thus back to religion!  But this is absolutely not NT fellowship WITH God!  <Notes> a) 2 Peter 2:1, b) Luke 5:17; Acts 5:34, c) Galatians 2:4, d) Acts 21:28, e) 1 Timothy 1:7.

 

That is exactly why after writing 1 John 4:7-8 above, John writes vv. 10-11 to keep Christians from slipping on that ‘Law slope:  “THIS is-defined-as unconditional-love: Absolutely in fact not that we have unconditionally-loved God (the Law’s upwards unconditional-love FOR God), but that He unconditionally-loved us (the Gospel’s downwards unconditional-love FROM God) and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins (the Gospel). Beloved, since God so unconditionally-loved us (the Gospel’s downwards unconditional-love from God), we also opheilo are-indebted to unconditionally-love one another” – Christ’s only commandment to the SAVED:  horizontal unconditional-love to others – Logos Word of God – BT16.  The impetus for horizontally, unconditionally-loving others is NOT the Law’s Upward-love FOR God, but God’s Downward-love to us through Christ and IN us by the Holy Spirit.  That is what the NT calls koinonia fellowship WITH God.

 

The apostle Paul understood where the enabling-power of unconditional-love comes from – and it’s NOT from us: “For The unconditional-Love of/belonging-to Christ (a) actually, ongoingly controls, preoccupies, constrains, or compels us (b) because we have judged this: that One has died for all, therefore all have died; and He died for all that those who are presently/ongoingly living might absolutely in fact no longer ongoingly live for themselves but for Him who for their sake died and was raised” (c). “Might” proves we are not forced into this as slaves!  As we’ve seen with the word opheilo above for “indebtedness,” there is no way through ‘duty or obligation’ we could repay our debt of sin, but we can respond with a “labor of unconditional-love” (d) act of gratitude or thanksgiving.  The next BLOG will talk about this more. <Notes> a) possessive genitive, b) see Surrender Control, c) 2 Corinthians 5:14-15, d) 1 Thessalonians 1:3.

 

The enabling-power of unconditional-love that gives us “self-control/mastery” (a) and that “preoccupies, constrains, controls, or compels us” to “live for Christ” instead of just ourselves, is absolutely not “our unconditional-love FOR God” (Upwards-love) but instead “Christ’s unconditional-love FOR us (Downwards-love), giving Himself FOR us” – that’s the meaning of the possessive genitive: “The unconditional-Love of/belonging-to Christ.”  Again, this supernatural Unconditional-Love is the nature/essence/definition of Jesus (J = L), who clearly is God according to the NT (G = L = G = J) that is shown as Downward-love to Christians (G = L = G = J = L –> C).  However, once it really is IN us by the indwelling Holy Spirit, then it supernaturally-enables us to unconditionally-love God with Upwards-love (G = L = G = J = L –> C –> G) and people with Horizontal-love (G = L = G = J = L –> C –> P).  <Notes> a)  another “flavor or facet” of The Unconditional-Love of the Spirit from Galatians 5:22-23.

As Christian musicians, the NT writers knew that the source of Christian unconditional-love FOR God or others was NOT within flawed men’s “might and power”, no matter what our motivation, because that is exactly the expectation and flaw of the palaios “old, antiquated, worn-out, useless” covenant.  Instead the source is the very fruit/essence/nature/definition of God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  Just as the previous BLOGs reveal, unconditional-love is NOT part of creation ‘outside of God’ but the singular nature of God!  “ALL THINGS are from, through, and to Him” because it turns out that His very nature of “Unconditional-Love” is what “holds all things together.”  The ‘unifying-force’ isn’t a WHAT at all, but the WHO of God.  Our ability to Upwards-Vertically love God and Horizontally-love people ALL comes “from and through Him.”  It really all comes down to dechomai receiving-welcoming and lambano seizing-for-yourself the Unconditional-Love that is God.  And really that’s what Romans 1:17 means: “the righteous-ones shall indeed zoe genuinely-live by trusting-relying-faith from one step of trusting-relying-faith to another, from beginning to end,” as this common Greek idiom “faith to faith” translates.

 

You can’t give away what you don’t possess.  God flows out unconditional-love to us “from Himself” because He is infinite Unconditional-love.  This comes into us through Christ as His Spirit when we dechomai receive-welcome and lambano seize-for-ourselves this free grace-gift of salvation through surrendering-repentance, confession, and water-baptism.  But it doesn’t stop there!  Every time we come into intimate koinonia fellowship with God and we are “routinely filled with the abundant-fullness of God by the means of the Spirit” per Ephesians 3:19 and 5:18, which is the definition of Spirit-baptism, we get more of God and His unconditional-love.  This is the only way to live the Christian ‘walk’ by routinely getting filled up WITH God and this is the only way we can experience and give away unconditional-love, the very nature of God.  Jesus was correct in John 15:4-7 that ONLY if we meno abide/cohabitate/remain IN Him will we be able to produce much fruit to glorify God, and in Matthew 19:26 and Mark 10:27, “WITH God all things are possible.”  See A 11-21-2021 Vision about Meno abiding. It’s not about following the Law to “Love God” or “Love your neighbor” nor is it even about the NT commandment “to ongoingly unconditionally-love one another as I have you.”  It all comes back to that trusting-relying-faith connection to the Lord, the first and only other NT commandment – see Logos Word of God – BT15!

Lord, keep us close to You for we know that nothing good comes from our flesh and only “God is good.”  We want to love You and others more, but we know that our “might and power” of Zechariah 4:6 just won’t cut it.  We need Your Spirit to supernaturally-enable this within us, by flooding us with Yourself, Your unconditional-love.  Fill us!  Baptize us!  We just want You.  We know that “ALL things” flow from You!

Because of my math background I started seeing equations as God gave me understanding in the previous BLOGS.  It helps me to see complex ideas easier, but it may just freak you out!  “Unconditional-Love (L) IS ongoingly God (G)” so L = G because all the descriptive adjective-nouns that Paul use in “unconditional-love ongoingly IS/exists-as” phrases in 1 Corinthians 13:4-6 are the same ‘flavors’ used to describe the “[singular] fruit/essence/nature of the Spirit ongoingly IS unconditional-love” in Galatians 5:22-23.  Thus “unconditional-love ongoingly IS/exists-as these ‘flavors’ and all of this from the [singular] fruit/essence/nature of the Spirit” and because we know that the Father, Son, and Spirit are ONE God, we can thus say “unconditional-love ongoingly IS/exists-as God.”

 

1 John 4:7-8 says “Beloved, let us unconditionally-love one another, for this unconditional-love (L) ongoingly IS/exists/is-defined-as ek out-from-the-interior-of God (L = G) and/thus everyone [who is] routinely unconditionally-loving, [this one] has been begotten ek out-from-the-interior-of God and/coupled [this one] experientially, relationally, ginosko knows God.  Anyone who is not in possibility routinely unconditionally-loving, has absolutely in fact not already experientially, relationally, ginosko known God because God ongoingly IS/defined-as/exists-as Unconditional-Love.”

 

This is directly tying Horizontal-love of Christians to the Vertical-love that not only comes-out-of-the-interior-of God but ongoingly IS God.  John isn’t arguing that we “love our neighbor as yourself” out of obligation/duty to follow an OT commandment, or even Christ’s commandment to “unconditionally-love one another as I have you”, although Christians do have this ONE commandment from Christ – see Logos Word of God – BT16.  Instead John argues that Christians have been begotten out-from-the-interior of God that ongoinly IS Unconditional Love, so naturally (or should I say supernaturally) they will exhibit His essence/nature.  Can you see the “symmetric property” of equality in mathematics?  G = L and L = G!

 

Also, if a Christian (C) is born/originated from God (G –> C) because of our trusting-relying-faith in Christ per 1 John 3:9, 4:7, 5:1, 4, and is thus in intimate koinonia fellowship with God as His child per John 1:12, Romans 8:16, 9:8, 1 John 3:1, 10, and if Unconditional-Love ongoingly IS God (L = G) and if unconditional-love comes ek out-from-the-interior-of God (G –> L), then by substituting Unconditional-Love (L) in for God (G), this turns God begetting Christians (G –> C) into Unconditional-Love begetting Christians (G = L –> C), which is exactly the gospel logos message of John 3:16 that God so unconditionally-loved the world that He gave His only Son . . . that we may have eternal life” but especially 1 John 3:16 “By this we genuinely, experientially, relationally epignosko know unconditional-love:  That He (Christ) laid down His life for us” – We are begotten from God’s unconditionally-loving nature/essence that is eternal!  This is a vertical fellowship of God’s Unconditional-Love flowing downwards to us, making us completely-different-in-kind New Creations (2 Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 6:15)!

As Christian musicians, it’s just amazing how God can be unconditional-love and the very presence of unconditional-love be God!  It makes total sense that if His very nature/essence of Unconditional-Love (G = L) comes Vertically-downward into us as Christians (L –> C) in water-baptism to beget us as completely-different-in-kind NEW creations (G = L –> C), and the more we routinely get filled-to-completion or Spirit-baptized with the abundant-fullness of God per Ephesians 3:19 and 5:18 (more G = L –> C), then the more we will epignosko genuinely experience-to-know God and reflect Him in our Horizontal-relationships with people (P) that is G = L –> C –> P.  Can you see how God just flows through us to others?  We are but channels for God!

Thank You Lord for making the NEW Covenant completely-different-in-kind and superior to the old palaios “old, antiquated, worn-out, useless” covenant.  NOW You are “the One Teacher” who comes into us so we can simply focus on a vertical-relationship of unconditional-love, experiencing-to-know Your very essence/nature.  And as we do, You “work in us both to will/desire and to work Your good pleasure” just as Philippians 2:13 promises.  Praise Your name that you have kept it simple for little children and the other “least among us.”

In the Greek of Galatians 5:22-23 from the previous BLOG, the words “joy peace patience kindness goodness faithfulness/trusting-relying-faith (a) gentleness self-control” are all adjectival-nouns further describing “the [singular] karpos fruit of the Spirit ongoingly is-defined-as/exists-as “Unconditional-Love.” And we know from the last BLOG that karpos “fruit” is not a by-product ‘outside of God’ but the actual essence or nature of the God the Father, Son, and Spirit!  That’s what the Greek scholars says and I agree!  In Greek, the “number” whether singular or plural of the subject, the verb, and direct object must match, and the word order shows emphasis and grammatical function.  Thus the [singular] karpos ‘fruit/essence/nature’ subject must match the verb “ongoingly is’ and first [singular] direct object, which is the word [singular] agape that means “undeserved, unearned, unmerited unconditional-love” that is very close in meaning to “unconditional-loving-favor-of-grace.”

 

It’s a crying shame that the Phillips bible translated karpos in the plural and then had the gall to call these “human fruits!”  The Easy-To-Read bible added “that the Spirit produces in a person’s life is . . .” The Amplified Bible adds the idea of “the result of His presence within us,” which they are assuming from the context, similar to the Contemporary English Version saying “God’s Spirit makes us . . .”  Similarly The Living Bible says: “when the Holy Spirit controls our lives He will produce this king of fruit in us.”  Well that’s just a sampling of how so many bibles turned a verse that was about the karpos nature/essence of the Spirit into a verse about Christian behavior, which we talked about in the last BLOG.  How can bibles add words that aren’t even in the text?  See Bible Info.  <Notes> a) the word pistis can mean either.  Faithfulness really is just “patient-enduring trusting-relying-faith” which we see closely related in 2 Timothy 3:10 (next to each other in a list), Hebrews 6:12 (coupled by kai), and Revelation 2:19 made related by parallel phrases (metonymy).

 

Furthermore, all the other 8 words after agape without any punctuation simply describe this “Unconditional-Love” that ongoingly is the essence/nature of God’s Spirit, and are in order of emphasis in Paul’s mind.  These are the various ‘flavors’ of the singularly karpos ‘fruit’ of Unconditional-Love, but the Lord also showed me while ‘in the Spirit’ one day that they are like ‘facets’ on a single diamond called “Unconditional-Love.”

 

God also showed me this in a vision long ago:  “While jogging around the park, proseuchomai conversationally-praying in the Spirit (a), I saw something like a 1000 butterflies come out of a strangely-bright weeping-willow tree on my path near the park’s lake. Then “in the Spirit” I saw small, soccer ball-sized, yellow fruit hanging from the tree and was told to “take and eat.” All the fruit was the SAME because “a tree is experientially, relationally ginosko known by its [singular] karpos fruit” (Matthew 12:33; Luke 6:44) – not by a bunch of different kind of fruit!  My grapefruit tree leaves look very similar to my orange tree and unless I look at the fruit, I wouldn’t know the difference.  I have a yellow grapefruit and ruby-red grapefruit tree, and again I can’t really tell the difference looking at the leaves or even the fruit, but they taste radically different, and THAT IS HOW YOU KNOW the difference – by experience!  <Notes> a) 1 Corinthians 14:2, 4, 9, 14-15, 18, 26, 39 clearly defines this as “praying in a [supernatural] tongue,” cf. Ephesians 6:18, Jude 1:20.

 

In my vision, when I bit into this karpos fruit, I was overwhelmed with unconditional-love, but as I started recovering from being ‘plowed’ by this, I then tasted “immense joy” (a) that so “overflowed” (b) that it made me profusely cry with such gratitude. Then I felt “a peace of tranquility that passed all understanding” (c), and then I experienced all the other words in the Galatian 5:22-23 list to some degree – very similar to the way a good wine, the ‘fruit of the vine,’ gradually ‘opens up’ with more complex flavors after sipping it for a while, especially if you’ve taken a couple of wine-tasting classes and helped taste for restaurant purchases! <Notes> a) i.e., in tongues, as Paul also describes in 1 Corinthians 14:2, 4, 9, 14-15, 18, 26, 39.  <Notes> a) Matthew 2:10, 28:8; Luke 2:10, 24:52; Acts 15:3; Jude 1:24; 2 Corinthians 8:2, b) 2 Corinthians 7:4, c) Philippians 4:7.

 

In another revelation, the Lord showed me that “Unconditional-Love” is red like a heart, the “Joy” is bright yellow like a daisy, and “Peace” is royal blue like the clean sky looking away from the sun – see Unconditional-Love – BT3.  Paul is describing 8 colors of white light, the Light of Christ’s Spirit.

 

My personal experiences with fillings or baptisms by the Spirit have verified the ‘flavors’ of “Unconditional-Love.”  In every case, I was immediately hit with overwhelming, infinite, unconditional-love followed by grateful tears of joy for such forgiveness, total non-judgmental acceptance, and koinonia communion with God.  Then followed such peace that removed all worries and concerns for the outside world.  Then came months of God’s unconditionally-loving nature visiting me time and time again, displaying itself in and through me with experiences of patience (a), kindness, goodness, trust-rely-trusting-relying-faith/faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control – all traits that I’ve rarely ever had for long otherwise, no matter how much I “worked at them” like so many churches will tell you! They all were just given to me – no reading, memorizing, or study of any bible verses at all!  All were simply expressions of God, unconditional-love, meno “abiding/cohabitating/remaining” (b) in me. See A 11-21-2021 Vision about Meno abiding.  And boy, could I akouo hear/understand God’s Voice of directly-spoken/heard prophetic rhema words clearly inside of me!  And boy, did my prayers regularly come true!  Everything just happened to me, just like Jesus promised (e)! <Notes> a) steadfastness even through suffering, b) John 15:1-7.

 

Every other word in the bible used to describe God is simply describing the “defined-as/exists-as ongoingly IS” or ‘I AM’ of God of “Unconditional-Love.” God has shown me this several times, but really brought it home in this vision! In 1983 after seeking God Himself in proseuche conversational-prayer for about a month at the top of the University of Arizona’s McKale Center stadium after my church fell apart from a disgusting leadership coup d’état, one day I turned around to start my walk down to my morning classes and back to my old life because I could not find to God to verify that I wasn’t just part of some brain-washing cult.

 

Suddenly I lost all strength and fell to the ground, receiving my first vision ever:  I was in the middle of an infinite ocean of unconditional-love, with no shore in sight. A whirlpool started developing and I was being pulled into it, but then I realized the ocean was trying to drain into my innermost being inside my chest as I lay on the concrete, my whole body tingling from what felt like electrocution!  I was completely overwhelmed within minutes of such infinite, unconditional-love trying to fit into my finite body that I felt I would surely die.

 

Unfortunately, I cried out for it to stop and God did, but then I was overwhelmed with immense joy and I wept for a long time!  Then after the tears subsided, I felt a restful peace or tranquil calmness come over me that is beyond all logical understanding. I could have laid there forever with absolutely no cares in the world, but I eventually got up to go to classes.  I was on a ‘Jesus high’ for months, full of the nature of God with absolute enabling-power over all the sins that had always plagued me, especially nearing summer when campus girls wore very little.

 

Worship and evangelism were so natural, simply sharing God who was living in me.  I never studied the bible as my church had so drilled into me, and when I did read it, God said so much between the words and lines that I rarely got through a paragraph!  All I wanted to do was be in God’s presence, share, listen, and feel.  In retrospect, I think God worked within the boundaries I had created with so much bible study being pounded into me, as limited as that was.  Our trusting-relying-faith is what limits us, and the bible is what I was told was God’s only reliable form of communication. The apostle Paul who wrote Galatians 5:22-23 above, also uses all these same words of “joy, peace, . . . self-control throughout his other writings to simply TRY to describe what unconditional-love is (a). Also compare Peter’s writings (b).  However, the apostle John simply nails what Paul is so often wordy in saying:  “God actually ongoingly IS-defined-as/exists-as Unconditional-Love” period (c).  Elegantly simple!  <Notes> a) 1 Corinthians 13:4- 7; 2 Corinthians 6:6; Titus 1:8; Romans 12:9, 14:17; 2 Timothy 2:22, b) 1 Peter 1:8, 5:14; 2 Peter 1:5-7, c) 1 John 4:8, 16.

 

Yet, the context of Galatians 5:22-23 is how this affects us as Christians.  The church father Jerome in his commentary on Galatians 6:10 says: “The blessed John, the evangelist, in extreme old age at Ephesus would be carried into the congregation in the arms of his disciples and was unable to say anything except, ‘Little children, love one another.’ At last, wearied that he always spoke the same words, they asked:  ‘Master, why do you always say this?’  He replied:  ‘Because it is the Lord’s command, and if this only is done, it is enough.’ ” This ‘horizontal love’ is something explored later – see also Logos Word of God – BT16, but in the next BLOG we will dive in deeper to this ‘Vertical, Downward unconditional-love’ nature/essence of God.

As Christian musicians, if we are going to teach the bible, shouldn’t we teach what it actually says in the original language and not 900 English translations or 3,415 other languages that oftentimes don’t come close?  That’s the case with Galatians 5:22-23.  This does NOT teach about the nature of proper Christian “fruits” or behavior but the singular nature/essence ‘fruit’ of the Holy Spirit with many descriptive ‘flavors’ of “joy, restful-peace, . . . self-control/mastery” that seeks to dwell in and overwhelm Christians, albeit supernaturally influencing their behavior in the larger context.

 

Anybody who actually has genuinely, experientially, relationally epiginosko known God by fillings or baptisms of the Holy Spirit can concur that these are all overwhelming experiences that flow out of and after being overwhelmed by Unconditional Love.  I have had many such experiences and want so many more!  I hunger and thirst for this intimate koinonia fellowship with infinite, unconditional-love, the very nature/essence of God, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  By this they are certainly “One!”  I have found that power over sin and ability to do the “good works” of Christianity to naturally flow from this river of zoe genuine-life, but otherwise thru the religion of churchianity to be a difficult task.  I believe this is the exact meaning of Zechariah 4:6, “absolutely in fact, no longer by might and power, but by My Spirit, says Yahweh of hosts” describing the completely-different-in-kind New Covenant.  It makes sense that if you are actually experiencing “God within by the indwelling Spirit” that this will find a way to overflow into your life and through your life to others.

Lord, thank You for replacing the old covenant of “works or disciplines of righteousness” to try to get God to move from the outside to the inside of us, with the simplicity of the completely-different-in-kind New Covenant Way of coming to dwell inside us so that You can do Your “works of righteousness” on the inside of us by the means of Your Holy Spirit to then “gush up like an eternal spring” to flow out of us to not only change our lives but those around us, to actually be Your witnesses!

From the last BLOG, the Lord then downloaded even more verses and directly-spoken/heard prophetic rhema words, visions, and dreams, so now I clearly understood that unconditional-love isn’t a “fruit or by-product” of God (a) at all!  That is the common misconception of the English word “fruit” in Galatians 5:22-23, “the [singular] karpos fruit of the Spirit is actually, ongoingly IS-defined-as/exists-as [singular] agape unconditional-love joy peace patience kindness goodness faithfulness/trusting-relying-faith (b) gentleness self-control” – notice there are no commas in Greek!  Then how do we understand this verse?  We will start digging in now! <Notes> a) whether the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, b) the word pistis can mean either.  Faithfulness really is just “patient-enduring trusting-relying-faith” which we see closely related in 2 Timothy 3:10 (next to each other in a list), Hebrews 6:12 (coupled by kai), and Revelation 2:19 made related by parallel phrases (metonymy).

 

Karpos “fruit” isn’t just “the by-product of trees, vines, and fields” (a), or a baby from a womb (b), or just the “harvest or result of our sowing of good works” (c) or “bad works” (d), or just the proof that is “keeping with repentance” (e) or risk “being cut down and thrown into the fire” (f), or even our “sacrifices of praises of thanksgiving to God” (g). <Notes> a) Matthew 21:19, 34, 41, 26:29; Mark 11:14, 12:2, 14:25; Luke 13:6-7, 22:18; John 12:24, 15:2, 4, 5, 8, b) Luke 1:42, c) Colossians 1:10, d) Romans 7:5, e) Matthew 3:8; Luke 3:8, f) Matthew 3:10; Luke 3:9, g) Hebrews 13:15.

 

Jesus really defines karpos in regards to living beings: “You shall actually, genuinely, experientially, relationally epiginosko know people by their singular karpos fruit” (a).  Furthermore Jesus accused the religious leaders: “How can you speak good, when you are evil? For out of the abundance/surplus of the heart (b) the mouth speaks . . . but what ‘comes out of’ the mouth proceeds from the heart (b), and it is this that actually defiles a person (c)” (d) . . . The good person out of the good treasure/storehouse of his heart (b) produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure/storehouse [of his heart] produces evil, for out of the abundance/surplus of the heart (b) his mouth speaks” (e).  Clearly Jesus is saying that karpos “fruit” doesn’t ‘make the man’ any more than a ‘cart drives the horses,’ but that karpos “fruit” does reveal the ‘actual nature/essence of the man’ – what’s actually “inside them, in their treasure/storehouse of their heart/mind/inner-being.” Our relational experience of their words and deeds (their singular type of fruit) reveals their singular true nature, the “storehouse of their heart, their innermost being.”  So it is with God! <Notes> a) Matthew 7:16-20 [plural ‘fruits’ refers to plural vines with their singular type of fruit], cf. 12:33; Luke 6:43-44, b) Jews view the mind, heart, and inner-being the same, using the terms interchangeably – see Identity, c) context: not putting the wrong foods into your mouth, or eating foods without ceremonially washing your hands, d) Matthew 12:34, 15:18, e) Luke 6:45.

 

Therefore, neither is the “[singular] karpos fruit of the Spirit ongoingly is-defined-as/exists-as Unconditional-Love” (a) or the “Spirit of the Father” (b) or the “Spirit of Christ” or the “Spirit of God” (c), as if speaking only about a “fruit or by-product” as a “thing” simply “contained within” or as a “by-product” of the Triune God that only ek “comes out of” God.  Our English bibles can be very misleading many times – see Bible Info!  No, the “[singular] karpos fruit of God, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit that ongoingly IS Unconditional-Love” actually reveals the “actual nature of, treasure/storehouse, mind, heart, or inner being” of The Triune God!  A couple of translations came closer by translating karpos nature:  God’s Word Translation and Names of God Bible.  However almost all translations think this verse is talking about a Christian’s ideal plural behaviors, when it’s really talking about many “flavors” or characteristics of the singular nature of the Holy Spirit that dwells in a Christian.  We can actually genuinely, experientially, relationally epignosko know the Triune God by this Unconditional-Love! <Notes> a) Galatians 5:22, b) Matthew 10:20, c) Romans 8:9.

 

And neither is Unconditional-Love a ‘what or thing’ that is ‘inside the box’ of the universe for scientists to discover, but actually ‘The WHO’ that created ‘the box’ of the universe in the first place and sustains it now, as we discussed in the last BLOG!  “God is actually, ongoingly, defined-as/exists-as Unconditional-Love” period (a).  Everything that God the Father originally thinks, that God the Son communicates as the logos Word/Message of God, and that God the Holy Spirit powerfully does, is “by, from, through, and for” Him (b) – and this Triune God is actually, ongoingly, defined-as/exists-as  Unconditional-Love!  And that’s what God tells me! <Notes> a) 1 John 4:8, 16, b) Colossians 1:16; Romans 11:36; 1 Corinthians 15:27; Ephesians 1:10.

As Christian musicians, don’t you want to more deeply know the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit God who doesn’t just have some quantity of unconditional-love that they may get around to sharing with you if you are good enough (like the conditional love of the Old Testament), but whose very nature or essence is infinite Unconditional-Love of which all other characteristics are a flavor or facet of?  If you haven’t experienced this unmerited, undeserved, unearned, loving-favor-of-grace kind of love from God, then likely you have never received the Spirit of God.  This is how God is known, just as “a tree is known by its fruit.”  The “fruit” of God that is “Unconditional Love” is not something outside of Himself like matter or energy ‘inside the box of the universe,’ but “the very nature or essence” of His “mind, heart, or inner-being” that are ‘outside the box of the universe.’  You may indeed have gnosis informational-knowledge about God but you don’t genuinely, experientially, relationally epiginosko God.  In other words, you don’t have koinonia intimate fellowship with Him.  Read the Salvation page to get started down the right road in life!

Lord, we want to know You fully and that means diving in deeply into Unconditional-Love, for all rivers flow from this Spring.  Lord, reveal this to us fully as we seek after you relentlessly like a little child asking for cookies, and “as a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God.”

Now God tells me the truth: “The Unifying blah blah blah they are looking for is ME. But you say, ‘How then has God been right under their noses from the beginning?’ Because I AM Unconditional-Love. The no-strings-attached, unconditional-love they feel within them, even shown to their own enemies at times, is ME. They have never been able to adequately explain what THIS is or WHERE it comes from. That’s because they think IT is a WHAT somehow produced by people’s brains ‘inside the box’ of the universe. But I AM Unconditional-Love and I come ‘into the box’ from ‘outside of the box.’ I, Unconditional-Love, created all things and hold all things together by ME, Unconditional-Love.  Everything that I AM, say, and do, is a representation of ME, Unconditional-Love. If you pray by ‘asking, seeking, and knocking’ that ‘the eyes and ears of your mind and heart be opened’ to see and hear The Truth, I will indeed show you The Truth. I AM The Truth, which is Unconditional-Love. Only then will you be ‘wise and understanding’ – only then will you have ‘insight and discernment.’ These things are from ME – they are extensions of Unconditional-Love, as are all things ‘in the box.’ Ask, seek, knock for ME and you will get all things with ME.”

 

“Wisdom, Understanding, Insight, and Discernment” given:  The very thing the scientists are looking for has been under their noses for thousands of years, actually from the beginning of mankind!  It is not a quantum particle of matter or some form of energy to still be looking for. These are all still ‘inside the box’ and thus products of ‘The Designer.’  It is foolish to continue to think that anything “inside the box’ originated anything ‘inside the box!’  The “thing” the scientists are looking for is certainly not a Star Wars “Force to be with you” either – such Buddhist ‘mumbo jumbo’ of George Lucas!  It’s not a product or ‘fruit’ of the universe at all!  What they are looking for isn’t a ‘thing’ or a ‘what’ at all, so that’s why they will never find it – they are looking for some ‘thing’ that simply does not exist.  If they were actually “sophia wise and sunesis ‘connect-the-dots’ understanding/knowing” (a) and had “aesthesis insight-discernment” (b) so that you can dokimazo scrutinize-discern (c) what is best” (d), then they would be looking for ‘The WHO’ – God, the Father or Originator of everything! <Notes> a) Matthew 11:25; Luke 10:21; James 3:13, cf. “wisdom and understanding” from the Spirit by revelation: Colossians 1:9, b) aesthesis:  related to the noun aistheterion:  sense-discernment that ‘cuts through’ hazy moral matters to really ‘size things up,’ c) dokimazo: discern, test, examine, scrutinize to demonstrate or prove something is acceptable, genuine, approved, good, and approved, d) Philippians 1:9.

Dream:  I remembered a dream the Lord had given me long ago of a great monster ravaging the world, destroying every aspect of it. Every person was in some form of pain and suffering from it, and no weapon that man could devise had any effect on stopping the monster. When I asked the Lord, He told me: “This was SIN ‘stealing, destroying, and killing’ the world.”  So many people were begging God to save us, and then I saw a mile-wide bolt of lightning from the throne of God pierce the sky, straight through the top of the towering monster’s head until he was disintegrated. I was stunned and asked what in the world that was?  God said:  “It’s always been the same – My love.” Zechariah 4:6 gives God’s solution to the old covenant in order to produce the completely-different-in-kind New Covenant (a):  “No longer by might or power (b), but by My Spirit, says Yahweh of hosts/armies.”  At the time, I thought that “love” was simply a ‘thing’ that God, by His Holy Spirit, possessed (b) that I needed more of. Wrong!  God doesn’t contain any “thing” – Every created “thing” is actually an extension of Him! <Notes> a) cf. Jeremiah 31:31-34, b) Hebrew/Greek for all of man’s external resources and internal abilities, b) 1 John 4:8, 16; Galatians 5:22; Romans 5:5, 15:30; Colossians 1:8; 2 Timothy 1:7; close proximity association: 2 Corinthians 6:6, 13:14; Philippians 2:1.

 

Dream:  I was reminded of another dream the Lord had given me long ago of the whole world being trapped in an insane asylum, everybody with some form of delusion. Nobody was able to escape, and the demonic forces just kept drugging us, keeping us busy, or staying entertained so we didn’t care about escaping, much like the movie The Matrix.  But a Father-Son team of chemists had the antidote, which came in a blood-red can marked “The Real Thing” – and it wasn’t “Coca-Cola!”  When I gave it to my alcoholic friend, his chest opened up and a robotic hand came from deep within him to lambano “receive or take hold of for one-self” this grace-gift.  Immediately he was clear minded and we escaped. When I asked what in the world that was, God said: “It’s always been the same – My love.” Again, at the time, I thought this was a ‘thing’ God had within Him, which we sometimes feel. Wrong! The grace-gift is Himself – Unconditional-Love!

As Christian musicians, doesn’t it make sense that The Truth about how the universe is held together and works would be The Designer–Creator Himself, that it wouldn’t be ‘inside the box’ of creation, because that does not explain where ‘the unifying force/matter’ of “the box” came from in the first place!  What a revelation to find that it is not a WHAT but the WHO of Unconditional-Love that is making everything work!  Colossians 1:17 says that Jesus was “before all things and IN Him all things hold together.”

 

If “God is unconditional-love” per 1 John 4:8, 16, and Jesus is the “Logos Message that was God” per John 1:1, and the “singular fruit/nature of the Spirit ongoingly is unconditional-love” per Galatians 5:22, and “the Lord [Jesus] ongoingly is the Spirit” per 2 Corinthians 3:18, so we can say “The Spirit of the Lord [Jesus]” per Acts 5:9, 8:39, and 2 Corinthians 3:17, then it’s obvious that “Jesus and His Spirit ongoing are unconditional-love” and that is how everything is being “held together.”  But the beauty of being like a little child or “the least among you” is that you don’t have to read the bible to reason this out, but have God simply tell you!  I love that the Lord gave me at least 13 revelations about this, though I have felt His unconditional-love overwhelm me in Spirit-baptisms many more times, and I want many more!

 

Prayer:

 

 

Lord, “routinely pleroo fill us to completion with Your pleroma abundant-fullness by the means of Your Spirit” per Paul’s exhortations in Ephesians 3:19 and 5:18.  We desperately need more of You in order to actually experience The Truth that You are Unconditional-Love and everything we need “to be held together” is in You.

5/27/2019 – a vision and a study that “Unconditional-love is God” and is the “unifying force of the Universe”

As I laid in bed, the Lord downloaded so much revelation concerning the nature of the universe, too much to write down, showing me how to sunesis ‘connect-the-dots’ to understand/know the nature of God’s unconditional-love.  He said that scientists are being foolish when they look for the ‘unifying force’ or ‘theory of everything’ within ‘the box’ of the universe, because their supposition or axiom in which they build everything else on top of, is actually flawed – they erroneously think that something inside ‘the box’ of the universe actually created ‘the box’ of the universe.  They are trying to explain the ‘design of the box’ without acknowledging ‘The Designer of the box.’  This is seriously flawed!  I laid there amazed at the simplicity of God’s logic that just was simply given to me.

 

God said that He “utterly destroys the wisdom of the ‘wise ones’ and thwarts the sunesis ‘connect-the-dots’ rational understanding of the ‘understanding ones’.”  Paul also said this (b). I heard God laugh as He said, “I have kept these things hidden from the ‘wise and understanding’ but uncovered what was hidden for little children.”  Jesus also said this (b).  But how?  God said, “By My Holy Spirit of wisdom and understanding!”  Paul also proseuchomai conversationally-prays for Christians that “by this they would be filled with the genuine, experiential, relational epignosis knowledge of God’s will” (c) – see New Covenant Ways – BT16 and Least Among You – BT8. <Notes> a) 1 Corinthians 1:19 citing Isaiah 29:14, b) Matthew 11:25; Luke 10:21, c) Colossians 1:9, 2:2; 2 Timothy 2:7; 1 John 5:20.

 

Paul tells us exactly how we get this epignosis knowledge:  “by the means of all (a) Spirit-kind-of sophia wisdom and/coupled sunesis ‘connect-the-dots’ understanding/knowing” (b).  This is NOT naturally-acquired but supernaturally given!  This is exactly what is involved in the “dokimazo scrutinizing–discernment (c) of the will of God” (d) to know “what is pleasing to the Lord” (e), which “absolutely in fact cannot be understood by the natural man because it is anakrino discerned-by-close-examination (f) by the means of the Spirit” (g), not even by rote reading and learning of “the milk of the oracles of God (h)” as Jewish-Christians were catechism-taught (i) in order to “make them wise for salvation by trusting-relying-faith in Christ Jesus” (j).  No, “the solid food is for the mature, those through-the-realizing-channel of the habit of constant use/practice of their aistheterion senses (k) being gumnazo trained [like an athlete in a gymnasium] for diakrisis judging-through-discernment-to-distinguish (i) good from evil” (j)!  Therefore, Paul wisely proseuchomai conversationally-prays for Christians’ “unconditional-love to abound more and more by the means of genuine, experiential, relational epignosis knowledge and/coupled all (a) aisthesis discernment/insight (k) so that you can dokimazo scrutinizing–discernment (c) what is best in order than you may be pure and blameless eis into-reaching [the] Day of Christ” (l).

God showed me the nature of the universe for 2 hours, explaining things that are “kept hidden from the ‘wise and rational understanding’” (a) scientists because they obstinately refuse to look ‘outside the box’ in order to get the Spirit-kind-of sophia wisdom and/coupled ‘connect-the-dots’ sunesis understanding/knowledge and various forms of discernment/insight about ‘the box’ of the universe. <Notes> a) Matthew 11:25, 13:11; Mark 4:11; Luke 8:10, 10:21.

 

Now, I’m no more special than a “little child” relentlessly asking their parents for just about everything.  In fact, when I shared my “insights” with my wife Charlotte, she printed out a very similar directly-spoken/heard prophetic rhema word that the Lord gave to her years ago that I will share further below.  What confirmation!  Mark & Patti Virkler’s book 4 Keys to Hearing God’s Voice has helped tons of people directly hear God in 32 countries!

Reflection:

 

 

As Christian musicians, do we want to go through life straining to understanding the world around us, not able to see around the corners?  We can accumulate great gnosis informational-knowledge, and it certainly can “puff our heads up” as Paul said in 1 Corinthians 8:1 because we think with our “might and power” of Zechariah 4:6 that we are “wise and understanding.”  But it will always be limited by our perspective!  What we need to do is press into the presence of the Lord to get His unlimited perspective!  That answer is NOT ‘inside the box’ of creation as so many foolish scientists believe in their futile searching!  The answer is ‘outside the box’ with the Creator!  Press in!

 

Prayer:

 

 

Lord, help us not get so bogged down in the details, analyzing the bark on the tree that we ‘can’t see the forest through the trees’ or worse, not experience the Creator of the trees and get Your “wisdom and understanding.”  Help us become as a relentless child to ‘pull on Your shirt tail’ until we receive from You all the blessings You have for us.

1/23/2021 revelation about colors of the Spirit related to His unconditional-love

I have received many revelations about yellow being the color of the Spirit’s joy.  So today I asked about the color of unconditional-love that LOVE is as a descriptive adjective-noun or ‘flavor’ “of the singular fruit/nature of the Holy Spirit that is unconditional-love” (a), which is commonly experienced after baptisms or fillings of the Holy Spirit or in other ways closely associated to Him (b).  I couldn’t believe I asked this because immediately I saw red roses and red Valentine’s hearts.  No Dugh!  <Notes> a) Galatians 5:22; Philemon 1:7; 1 Peter 1:8; Philippians 4:1, b) Acts 13:52; Romans 14:17, 15:13; 1 Thessalonians 1:6.

 

Then I asked about what color peace was, also as a descriptive adjective-noun or ‘flavor’ “of the singular fruit/nature of the Holy Spirit that is unconditional-love” (a) that is commonly experienced after baptisms or fillings of the Holy Spirit or in other ways closely associated to Him (b).  I noticed in my experiences that peace comes after the profuse tears of Joy.  Well, immediately I saw deep blue skies and water like I saw in Crater Lake, Oregon!  Immediately I sighed with calmness!  <Notes> a) Galatians 5:22; Romans 1:7; 2 Corinthians 13:11; Ephesians 6:23; 1 Thessalonians 5:13; 2 Timothy 2:22; 1 Peter 5:14; 2 John 1:3; Jude 1:2, b) Romans 8:6, 14:17, 15:13; 1 Thessalonians 5:23; 1 Peter 1:2.

 

I’m buying these 3 colored pillow-cases tonight, and when I’m in bed in the morning or night praying, usually turned to one side, I can just place these pillows against the wall, stare into one, and go into a prophetic vision of this “flavor” of the singular “fruit of the Spirit that is unconditional-love.”

 

It turns out that red (love) yellow (joy) and blue (peace) are the primary colors of paints, inks, and all other light-reflecting objects, of which all other colors are a mixture, but in this case it was light-emanating.  The “singular fruit of the Spirit” that I once eido mentally ‘saw’ to perceive/know while jogging for awhile at the park as I was praising the Lord in tongues that I was told to take a bite out of, was a lighter ruby-colored grapefruit, or lighter blood-red orange. I can’t even find a color that matches it, because somehow it’s a mixture of all 3 primary colors of light, because the fruit shown!  I used www.trycolors.com to mix these 3 colors and couldn’t quite get what I saw, being a brighter, clearer version of 50% red (love), 33% yellow (joy) and 17% blue (peace) that was the right tone, but it won’t let me change the % incrementally to fine-tune it, although this matches the proportion of experiences I’ve had.

 

I’ve also experienced colors in the sounds of my drums, some darker or duller and some lighter or brighter.  I’ve seen the Holy Spirit as a brightly-colored butterfly of light in a vision guiding my playing of drums, in a dream where the Holy Spirit “One Teacher” had a patch with 3 colored fruits on it, in a dream where the Holy Spirit was a bright yellow-white light shaped like a worm that churchmen were fighting over to control, in a vision of bright-light on a football field where the coaches were keeping players on the side-lines, in a vision and dream about getting out of my study chair and walking through a brightly-lit door outside where the sky was the bluest I’ve ever seen and all the vegetation was most vividly-colored, in a dream where churchmen were erroneously adding colors to the pure white paint of the gospel to taint it, in a dream of the red wagon of Christ’s saving blood filled with 10 stars of worldly wealth tempting many to opt for that instead, in a Spirit-baptism vision as a bright yellow-gold shower of oil flowing into me.

 

I also had a long dream about the 2020 red Trump stock that would plummet because of election fraud but would eventually rebound after a double bottom – God had me intercede in His throne for half-hour at 3 am, gold-rain coming as judgment on the earth for the massive 2020 fraud that caused purging red flames everywhere to rain “truth and justice” down that later I was told would “come like an avalanche to shake the earth,” confirmations in a series of incredibly bright-pink (blood red mixed with pure white) sunsets with signs of a giant cross and wisps of prayers of the saints ascending during the tumultuous election steal, and a dream of the baptism of fire that is going to cook the ‘rotting meat of sin’ because of the election fraud-steal, covid-relief fraud, and riots.  I’m sure there were more, but it’s hard to keep up with the Lord!  I’m going to pray to experience more of the colors of the Spirit visually and audibly!

As Christian musicians, don’t you want the Lord to give you more prophecies, even in dreams and visions that He promised for the Church Age per Acts 2:17-19 and many other verses – see Spirit-Baptism, Grace-Gifts, Prophetic-Rhema, and Signs & Wonders pages?  Even in living color?  Don’t you want to see sounds in color?  You will just stare in wonder!  I want more!

 

Prayer:

 

 

Lord, thank You for promising us the Holy Spirit and doing even “greater works” than even Christ’s ministry.  There are a lot of us that hunger and thirst.  We want more of You and for You to open our eyes and ears, so that we can be radically changed in Your presence by Your “One Teacher” Holy Spirit.  We surrender!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

God’s unconditional-love doesn’t punish or separate from His children

According to John 15:1-8, when a Christian isn’t producing fruit, contrary to so much horribly-misleading doctrines blowing through the Church caused from horribly-misleading translations of the bible, God the Father, the Vine-dresser or Master-gardener, absolutely doesn’t “cut off” the branch (Christian) and “let it carelessly drop to the ground” or “throw it” into hell to burn for eternity!  What kind of person comes up with this stuff?

 

Careful analysis of the text reveals that God carefully “lifts up” or “ties up” the branch “in Me” higher on the Vine of Christ to receive more “light” for more nutrition, and also to keep it out of the darkness that causes leaf-molding, and to also keep it away from the threat of rodents and bugs that crawl up from the soil and underlying debris.  I’ve done a lot of gardening and have known several winery caretakers and that’s exactly what they do!  This same caring Father God carefully prunes extraneous, distracting growth from the producing branches to produce even more!  When we temporarily disconnect from the Vine of Christ, as all too often ALL OF US do – come on, be honest, you self-righteous Christians – we ALL experience the “withering away” separation from the zoe genuine-life of the Vine of Christ, but we aren’t dead yet so it’s not permanent, though we start to sometimes feel like it, and sometimes wish we were!  See the series on Holiness by Abiding in the Vine:  https://youtu.be/QUwPDI1FOUo .

 

In John 15:6, Jesus uses the subjunctive to propose a hypothetical “what if” scenario to explain where fruit comes from – the life of the Vine can only flow into the branches if they remain IN/by/with CHRIST, the Vine.  Again, Jesus is hinting at the fate of Judas, who had “left them.” John elsewhere says “they went out from us because they were never of us”. You will get really screwed up if you think Jesus is talking about the 11 disciples from vv. 4-5 when he is really warning them not to be the 1 who wasn’t staying there (meno).

 

Sure Christians can really get kaio “set on fire, kindled” by the devil using the world’s people.  However, we also have to remember, “What is meant for evil God can turn into good” (a), for kaio is often used of the fires of purification to cleanse metals like gold and silver from their impurities.  The world brings us troubles, but God is for us, not against us!  <Notes> a) Genesis 50:20.

 

This word for “fire” in verse 6 is used by John only in Revelation and although it can be purifying for Christians according to other writers, it is used a lot for the judgments of God against non-Christians – all those NOT IN the Vine of Christ. The word for “burned” in v. 6 is also used by John for the consuming, eternal fire of judgment.  This seems to apply to Judas and others like him who are part of the 2nd group of branches NOT “in Christ.”  Judgment awaits them!

 

So in verse 6 Jesus returns to the Judas’s case of detaching, leaving Christ, The Vine. It is thrown down/away (ballo) like a branch can be definitively (aorist passive), a one-time act that is DONE TO the branch. This is in contrast to the ongoing action of being lifted up (airo) DONE TO attached-branches in v. 2 by the Father Vinedresser. However, the Father does NOT here throw down (ballo) & collect these branches together to be thrown down (ballo) into the fire, but coupled by KAI another group (3rd person plural) does this! This is God’s angels He charges at the end of the age’s harvest time to separate God’s crop from the weeds, the goats of the world from the His sheep.

 

Nevertheless God allows our temporary “trials from temporary separation from the vine” which may indeed be “testing in order to prove what is genuine” that may be part of the “discipline of the Lord for those He unconditional-loves, in which you are to endure” (a).  That’s exactly what Peter implies:  “You have been grieved by various trials, so that the dokimion tested/proven genuineness (b) of your faith – more precious than gold that perishes though it is dokimazo tested/proven (b) by fire – may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ” (c).  Paul says the same thing to saved Christians:  “Now if anyone builds on the foundation of gold, silver, precious stones, [or] wood, hay, straw – each one’s work will become manifest, for the Day [of judgment] will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will dokimazo test/prove what sort of work each one has done” (d).  And again, “I proseuchomai conversationally-pray that your unconditional-love may abound more and more in/by/with knowledge and all discernment (e) – see New Covenant Ways – BT16, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the Day of Christ” (f).  Many Christians confuse the ‘Bema-Seat’ judgment of actual believers, where rewards are given out based on how well we “ran the race,” much like Olympic games do, even “in the midst of refining/burning (i) that comes toward/destined for your peirasmos test/trial” (k), versus the ‘Great White Throne’ judgment of unbelievers which is condemnation and sentencing to eternal separation from God in the lake of fire! <Notes> a) Hebrews 12:6-8, b) dokimion also in James 1:3 is from the verb dokimazo that means to “test, examine, or discern to demonstrate or prove something is acceptable, genuine, approved, good, and approved,” c) 1 Peter 1:6-7, d) 1 Corinthians 3:12-13, f) aesthesis:  the type of sensory perception or discernment which cuts through hazy ethical/moral matters to really size things up” – see also aistheterion used in Hebrews 5:14 “But solid food is for the mature, for those who have powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil,” i) Philippians 1:10, j) purosis:  refiners fire to purify metals:  Proverbs 27:21; Revelation 18:9, 18, k) 1 Peter 4:12.

 

We have to remember that it is Satan and his people who “steal, destroy/corrupt/pollute, and kill” – not the Lord Jesus Christ who “came to give super-abundant, zoe genuine-life” (a).  Remember, the Father will “run out and greet every returning prodigal son” (b) – He did with me after 15 years of running away!   He will even “go in search of the one that went astray, the one that is lost – until He finds it” (c)!  That’s why He has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (d).  “Nothing in all creation – neither death, life, angels, rulers, present, future, nor powers – will be able to separate US from The Unconditional-Love of/belonging-to God in Christ Jesus our Lord” (e).  That’s what trusting-relying-faith depends on!  <Notes> a) John 10:10, b) Luke 15:11-32, c) Matthew 18:12; Luke 15:4, d) Hebrews 13:5, e) Romans 8:38-39.

 

God’s ‘discipline’ of Christians is actually gentle, patient child-educational rearing, not punishment!

 

 

 

 

 

Spiritual Education, God’s Unconditional-Love doesn’t spank His children or visit sickness or disease on them, Trials do come like fire to purify Christians, God’s love doesn’t beat or injure His children, God’s discipline is gentle and patiently loving as with little children
